Loose bassinet sheets?

So the bassinet sheets I ordered the other day came today, and they're so loose! The mattress pad is even worse. I don't know if it'll be a suffocating hazard or not - shouldn't they fit tight and not have extra fabric?

The bassinet is oval and wicker, a family heirloom. Plenty of babies have slept in it, myself included, with sheets. So I don't know if I need custom sheets, or a new mattress, or what.

Maybe I can somehow affix it tight under the mattress? I have plenty of sticky velcro strips on hand...

Re: Loose bassinet sheets?

  • I ran into that problem too. My cradle is the one my brother and I slept in and I bought cradle bumpers because I was worried about the slats being too far apart and we had to work to get them to fit because they were too big. I think cradles must come bigger today. I got sheets from BRU and they fit on the foam I got at joanns to put in there. I read somewhere where a King size pillow case might work as a sheet.

  • Does your sheet have elastic all the way around? Measure your bassinet pad and then try googling it. Otherwise try the velcro and see if it works.

  • i would try to tighten the sheets or find another alternative.

  • Cutting a foam mattress pad from JoAnns might be the fix. Not throwing out the receipt on the sheets just yet though. Thanks Hayley!

They just created their account today and posted the same thing on three threads.  Spammers specifically search out threads that fit their product.  It doesn't matter how old it is, because there's a chance someone else will click on the link.

  • I was on GP in 2010 but it took me a while to realize that GPM was here and lurk on it until I got my bfp in 2011. I recognize GenRN.
