WIJFR: The Warrior Heir (NS)

Guys, I know a lot of you were scared to start this series because you were afraid it wouldn't be as good as the Seven Realms series.  I loved it.  It was well written and I couldn't put it down.  The main character, Jack, was loveable and there was a little twist at the end that was a little predictable but the way it plays out was not.  I recommend it.  (i'm trying not to spoil...lol)

  • Thanks for the review. Did you feel that it was a young - young adult?

For example, the first 3 Harry Potter books for me have a much younger audience than the last four. One of the things I appreciated about the Seven Realms was that the characters felt older than their 16 years.

  • No, I felt like the 16 year old, although had moments of immaturity, was pretty mature and dealing with older issues.  I didn't feel like it was a super young adult.

  • I'm glad you liked it! While I can't say I loooooved it, I thought it was definitely worth reading. I could tell that it was her first book, and I thought there were some minor writing flaws, but nothing that totally stole from my enjoyment. I just had to go in telling myself that this wasn't SR.

  • I just bought this book the other day! Now I am really looking forward to reading it! Thanks!
  • @sfgiantsjo-- Yeah, I noticed a few flaws too, but I still found it very enjoyable--enough to pick up another book.
