What new shows is everyone planning to watch?

Well after suffering through a good bit of the Emmy's last night (so so awful& seeing a ton of ads for "Hostages" I'm going to try that tonite (plus I love Dylan McDermott). I may tune into Ironside, Lucky 7 and the one with Sean Hayes but I doubt I will keep watching all of them. I'm just waiting for Revenge, Scandal & Good Wife to start again!

Re: What new shows is everyone planning to watch?

  • I'm more excited for all of my favorites to return...the voice!  Castle!  Modern Family!  Grey's!  Scandal!

I will give the new Michael J Fox show a shot, mainly because I really like him.

  • What area some of the new shows?  Other than the Hostages show (which looks like it has the potential to be really good), I haven't really heard of too many.

I liked the choreography part of the Emmy's last night.
  • I started watching Sleepy Hollow last week and really liked it. I may try Blacklist

I am excited for NCIS to start back up.

  • I am really bummed Mike and Molly isn't starting until Mid season. BOOOOOO CBS. I watch Sons of Anarchy with DH although it has become so over the top lately that I am not sure I can deal with it for the rest of the season. Guess that is why it has a shorter season than most. Is that really all I watch??
  • I'm interested in checking out Hostages, and I'm also interested in Agents of SHIELD. Right now I think those are the only new shows I'll be checking out.

Right now DH and I are trying to get in the last few episodes of some of LAST season's shows (just finished Big Bang on Saturday, and we still have 3 Modern Family episodes to go). We're up to date on Breaking Bad, and are almost finished with House of Cards.

Next on my Netflix queue is the last two seasons of Sons. I loved it, but got behind when we switched from from DirecTV to FIOS, and we never caught up, so now I'm two years behind on it :(

  • I want to watch Hostages for sure. Will try the Michael J Fox show too. That's really about it. I really haven't been excited about any new shows lately. I have a few old shows I watch and that's all.q

  • I think that ABC show "Betrayal" looks good. I'll be checking that out via DVR.  But I'm more excited that Castle, Modern Family, and Scandal are coming back!! I'll be watching Grey's but I have no "high hopes" for that since it seems like the ship sailed a while ago.
  • Just going to try a couple new sitcoms - Mom, The Crazy Ones and Michael J Fox (love him!). DH and I will watch Agents of SHIELD. Otherwise it is all stuff from last season. Thursday night the DVR will be working overtime!

Ooh!  I forgot about Parenthood!  It ended so early last year, I've missed it.  Love that show!
  • I forgot about Parenthood!  I'm excited for that one, too. I'm also excited for Dallas to start back up, but I don't think that will be until January :(

  • Old shows to watch: Big Bang, Mike & Molly, Two Broke Girls, Grey's, Vanderpump Rules (guilty pleasure!), CSI

New shows: Hostages (I liked last night's pilot a lot!), Blacklist, Michael J. Fox Show, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Lucky 7, Enlisted

Want to givew a shot, but not high hopes: Back in the Game, We Are Men, Mom, Ironside, Super Fun Night, Dads, Trophy Wife, The Crazy Ones, The Millers, Sean Saves the World

Our main TV nights seem to be Monday and Thursdays, so I may have to ditch the NFL package and get the DVR again. The rest of the week can be filled in with all the shows from those two nights!

And I HATE Central time for tv. While It's nice that the 10p shows are on at 9p here, I am never sitting down, done for the evening, at 7p to start the line-up.

    Yup, first world problem.

  • We recorded the pilot of Black List last night - so we'll try that one.  I would also like to watch the Michael J Fox show and Shaun saves the world.  There's also a sitcom that is about a family in the 80's.  I might try to watch that, too.

Clare, I've always wondered how the central time zone people watch the shows on at 8!  I guess they don't know any different, but it's so weird to me to be settling down to watch evening tv at 7!
  • You could always DVR it and then by the time you sit down and watch, just FF through all of the commercials!

I always wondered about the time zone difference too, how weird it would be to be on a different time schedule.  I was in San Francisco for the Steelers/Colts play off game (the shoestring tackle one) and it was so weird to be watching a Steeler game at 10:00 in the morning!
  • Clare, I would be bothered by that, too!  Last year, I went to Denver for work and my coworker and I left a networking event that evening at 8:15pm, so excited to head back to the hotel, put on PJs and watch Grey's Anatomy...imagine our disappointment when we realized that it had already been on!! :(

PS-Vanderpump Rules is one of my guilty pleasures as well.  when does it start back up again?

We lived in Wisconsin for a few years when my dad was with Chrysler. It is odd for tv to start at 7:00 but sometime I wish it started earlier, then I could go to bed before 11!

LOVED IT! Cannot wait until next week.

  • Emmy - Vanderpump Rule - November 4!! Seems so far away...

When I was in school in South Bend, they didn't change times - so part of the year was on Central time, the other half - Eastern time. Talk about confusing.

It is super nice to be able to go to bed at 10, versus 11. Well, I never used to be able to stay up for the 10p shows - I was lucky to make it through the 9pm ones! But still... Meghan, yup - gonna have to get the DVR!

  • I liked Hostages last night. We'll see if I continue to watch.

    Mom was OK.

I'm really just waiting for my favorites to come back: Law & Order: SVU, Revenge, and The Mentalist.

  • It should be required by law for the cable company to give you DVR if you live in central time! My kids aren't even in bed until 8.  I'd never be able to watch the first hour of prime time.

Todd is not usually in bed until 9. I would die without my DVR. It is my lifeline to evening sanity.
