We finally have our approval!
The new lender decided to fund the mortgage -- even with our old barns! The lender did call my H the morning before the letter was sent to the sellers, he said he just wanted to talk about our plans for the property. The bank obviously has to look out for themselves, and the lender told my H that the problem was that in the unfortunate event that the bank had to take the house back, they would have a hard time selling it as there is not a big market for historical homes. When my H told him all about the plans we had for improvements, how excited we were for the lifestyle change, and that our daughters have started riding lessons and we hope to have a horse in the pasture soon, the lender seemed more at ease. We more than qualify with our income, I think they were worried we might move in and decide we hate it and try to walk away or something. Anyway, it finally looks like this might come to an end -- we should close on 10/7!!! We've been under contract since the begining of May -- I'm ready to get in our home!
