Anyone have experience with the Paragard IUD? Our history is kind of complicated: We want children, but I have not been able to sustain a pregnancy, so we are opting to use birth control and adopt. I want something non-hormonal as hormones in the past have made me nuts and also b/c my doctors believe that I may be at higher than average risk for blood clots.
We want something long-term but not permanent, and don't want to have to think about it every time we have sex. I am currently using a diaphragm which I like, but I would like something more low-maintenance.
Any input? I've done a lot of googling and the reviews seem mixed.

Re: Paragard IUD
If I don't get used to the diaphragm, I will have a conversation with my gyno about what methods she would recommend. I might bring up Mirena as well to see if she thinks it would be okay.
I'm not worried about insertion too much. Figured it can't be worse than my d&c and hysteroscopy.
