The night my husband saved our lives

Thats the only way I can explain it. Because of Chris' composure and quick reaction we are all safe. If I was driving, it never would have been the same outcome. We were in the far right hand lane coming onto rt.1 when it opens to 3 lanes before the bridge heading south. A semi flew past us and threw water all over the car and must have caused puddling because Chris said the last thing he saw was the puddle and couldnt slow down fast enough to avoid it. Then we started spinning, head lights, concrete barrier, head lights, barrier, road. All that fast. How we settled out facing forward in the right direction and not hitting the concrete barrier or another car hitting us, is something I will never understand.  We ended up all the way over in the far left hand lane. Thank God all the other cars checked up and were able to avoid us. Chris was so calm and in control the whole time it was unreal. But hearing Chase screaming from the back seat was heartbreaking because I couldnt get to him. I told Chris to pull over, but considering how heavy the rain was, he didnt think it was safe to pull over on the highway. So I threw my seat all the way back and climbed in the back seat to get to Chase. I had to get to him no matter what. I just sat back there and cried and held him the entire way home.

Chase kept thanking Chris for saving us and I finally had to make him stop because I knew as thankful as Chase was, it was taking a lot for Chris to hold it all together and get us through the 40 minute drive home. Once we got home and Chris checked the car out and we all stood hugging in the rain, he completely broke down and just lost it.

I was supposed to be driving. I asked Chris to drive instead because I had had a couple glasses of wine too late into the party and something just didnt feel right. Since Chris had been having really bad heartburn so he only had a few beers the entire night, so he was obviously our best option. Thank God I did.
