baseball fans

I don't follow baseball but I was listening to sports radio this morning (yeah I know) and they were talking baseball and they said the Wild Card team only play a 1 game playoff 'series.'

That seems BS to me after such a long season. What do you think? They sportscasters felt it should be at least best of 3.

  • I do think that one game seems a little unfair. I would agree with the best of three thing.

  • They added a second wild card team a couple years ago (previously there was only one.  It's those two teams that play each other in a one game playoff.

Personally I think they should just go back to the one wild card spot and continue as normal.  The season and playoffs are long enough as it is.

I agree with that ONLY when my team isn't so crappy that it didn't even have a remote chance at even the second wild card at any point in the season.

  • I was pissed when they started that last year.  Even more pissed when my team was in it and lost.  I think after such a long season it should never come down to a one game playoff.  Either get rid of it, or make it a best of 3.

  • Yeah it seems a bit unfair. They were also discussing how it's a disadvantage for the winning team because they obviously play their #1 pitcher in the 1 game playoff and then start the next series with their #2 against the other teams #1.

it definitely is. As an avid baseball fall I hate this new system.

  • @MRads then I guess you will be really excited if it ends up being the Bucs vs. the Reds in the wildcard game! I don't know if I will be able to watch...it will be way too nerve-wracking for me
