Back to reality

Well, DH&I are joining the real world again. Going back to school today. I feel bad for DH because while we were at my mom's he caught a nasty cold. And of course, since he's a man, it's like 90x worse than anything.

I think I can say it's officially fall weather here. Chilly mornings&nights and sunny slightly warm days. I love it! Just wish it wouldn't be quite so chilly in the mornings. It's making it pretty cold in the house...we might have to break down and turn the heat on! Agh!

Happy Tuesday ya'll.

Re: Back to reality

  • I love fall!! It's my favourite! We're not doing heat for awhile. Ds has a heater and we survive with a duvet and lots of layers upon waking.

Today I'm going to see the wiggles! Oh joy. We don't even watch them but my daycare girl does and her grandparents wanted to take her so they're taking ds and I as well. Yeah!!

Sarah Emily doesn't work as a name right? Sarah Elizabeth is better? Still no decision on the girl name front.
  • Morning! It is chilly here as well. I had H get up last night and grab an extra blanket out of the closet. I was cold. My morning is off to a bad start. It took over an hour and 15 min, for me to get into work today. It normally take 25 min. WTF??? I missed 2 meetings, whoops.

JLQ: I agree that a lot of his (NS) books have simular plots. Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, something happens, you end up laughing or crying or both. I really liked The Choice and The Best of Me. And I wish he would write a squeal to Dear John though I didn't love that one as much as some of the other.

Echo: Sarah Emily works but I think Sarah Elizabeth sounds better together. Maybe because I know a few Sarah Elizabeth's but no Sarah Emily's.

  • Yeah I think it sounds better too. My problem with all our girls names is they have zero family ties where ds is named after our grandfathers and our new boy name is Dominic Joseph where Dominic is apparently dh's great grandfathers name and Joseph is a few uncles in his families names (one who may have died the night this lo was conceived...awkward but true).

Also I could never do a commute!! I'm so glad my commute is from my bedroom to my living room. Lol
  • Echo: What are the names in your family? We might be able to come up with something. Joy is good with baby names. If I ever had kids I want there names to mean something as else so I understand that.

  • Names of grandmas and great grandmas aren't good baby names....Imelda, bernardine, Magaret (Peggy), Shirley, Pearl, Nellie (can't remember what it's short for). Middles names I can remember are Mary and Anne...need to research more.
  • I will have to let others help. But I think Pearl would make a good middle name.

  • Echo - It's pretty nice of them to take you with them to the show! You can't beat a free show, even if it's to something you don't watch.
Degrea - I would hate it if my commute took that long!! It's going to start taking me longer to get to school because they are starting construction tomorrow.

And I agree, Sarah Elizabeth is more common, so it just rolls better. What about combining them and doing Emily Elizabeth?
Or you could do Mary Elizabeth, Mary Anne, Emily Margaret .....
Whatever you decide on will be the right name!

  • So in researching my ils female family names I have discovered that one of out original names fits!!

So it seems like we will be going with Therese Rose for our little girl. Theresa is apparently my mil's confirmation name and she had an aunt who passed away young with that name and it was what she would have named her daughter if she had one.

St Therese of Lisieux is a favourite saint of mine and dh's and a sign of her is a rose so when we were thinking of names last time it came to me in a dream to have a middle name of Rose (weird I know). So we're with names and I think it's set.
  • I like it!

  • It kind of makes me laugh that our back up girl name from last time is pretty much almost 100% our first name this time. It's like i just needed the confirmation it had a connection to family names.
  • We're going to spell it Therese and pronounce in theresa...too confusing? I had a friend growing up who did that and she survived so I figure it's ok
  • I think most people would pronounce it "Theresa" anyhow, so I think you'll be ok.

  • I have a friend whos moms name is Therese and they pronounce it Tereese......The St. Therese of Lesieux way would be Terez.

I think because I grew up with a friend Therese pronounced Theresa to me I just always pronounce it that way.

There are nickname possibilities too. I always like Reese as a nickname and apparently dh's great aunt went by Tessie which is cute to.We shall see. Lately I'm praying for a boy so I don't have to deal with girl diapers - I HATE changing them for my daycare girls!
