After trying on what felt like 100 dresses, I felt panic sinking in: I really didn?t think I was going to ever find a dress I liked at all! Then, I came across this dress, and it really was that moment that people talk about ? Amaranth was the one! The bodice is form-fitting and flattering without being too revealing. I actually felt like I could walk around with the short train without fear of falling down the aisle, and the slit gives the classic style a modern twist. Most of the dresses I tried on had itchy, scratchy lace. Not so with Amaranth! The lace is gorgeous, and the charmeuse bottom layer feels wonderful next to your skin. Cups and bustle are already attached, but are just lightly stitched on, so could easily be removed. I wore this dress for a mere 4 hours before changing into my reception gown. The length has never been altered. When the seamstress fitted the dress to me, she sewed the extra fabric in flat along the seam so the dress could either be taken in to a smaller size, or let out a bit to fit about a street size 4/6. There is light wear along the hem of the gown just from walking around in it. It could easily be cleaned (I already consulted with a top wedding gown cleaner in this area), but if you are going to need to shorten the dress, you?ll just be cutting that part off anyway, so I?m leaving that decision to the buyer.
I'm happy to share photos, and a local buyer could try on the dress before purchasing.
Just let me know if you have any questions!
