5 weeks and pants with button hurt

I had lost a significant amount of weight prior to getting pregnant. I cannot wear my "thinner" jeans at all because it hurts across my belly button. So I have 2 pairs that are 2 (yes 2) sizes bigger. And I found when I sat it hurt with the band "digging" in to the front of my stomach. So i had to push by pants under my pooch. IS this normal? Plus it hurts my stomach (From belly button down) to lay on my stomach. I am a stomach sleeper and I went to take a nap for work tonight and found it was incredibly uncomfortable to lay on my tummy. I would think its too early to feel anything in that region. Isn't the little one like below my pubic bone still? Sorry for sounding whiney and stupid and paranoid.

Re: 5 weeks and pants with button hurt

  • Welcome to pregnancy bloat. From this point forward everything is normal and may never be the same again.

  • I couldn't button my pants the other day so just used the hair tie trick to button them.  That's what I have been doing on my jeans!

  • Yeah I avoided my jeans as much as possible in first tri because by lower abdomen always felt so sore. You could try a Bella band, or elastic waist pants for more comfort. I wore dresses and leggings a lot until I got maternity pants around 12 weeks.

  • Totally normal even that early. I just literally always left my buttons undone starting around 6 weeks (I used the hair band trick) and then started wearing maternity jeans at 9 weeks and never looked back.

  • I think at 5 weeks I used the hair tie trick on all my jeans. I switched over to maternity jeans at 9 weeks.

  • Yeah the b band was even hit and miss for me. Sometimes it was great, and other times I hated having even the slightest pressure on my belly cuz it hurt. I did love having it in early third tri though because it fit perfectly and I was able to wear some prepregnancy pants. Now I'm so big I barely fit into anything, maternity or not. ;)

  • Yup, beautiful pregnancy bloat. At this point, the baby is still so far under your public bone that it wouldn't be the baby, but the bloat can be nasty.

  • Ok, so I'm not crazy? My pants have been feeling tighter and I yelled at myself for gaining so much weight. Now I wish I hadn't donated my pre-weight loss pants. Looks like I'm going shopping...
