Hi all! Just thought I'd post and share my wedding anniversary!
I married the man of my dreams September 20, 2013! We haven't been married a full week yet, but we are already loving being newlyweds!
We live in Columbus, Ohio and have been together over 9 years! We met and both of us instantly knew the other was "the one". We really are each best friends. We do almost everything together because we genuinely love each other's company.
7 years ago, we planned a huge elaborate wedding and unfortunately, due to a family emergency, had to cancel at the last minute
We have been discussing and planning a re-do ever since but the thought of another year of our entire lives (and wallets) revolving around planning a wedding and reception gave me major anxiety... We have owned our home for 5 years and were more interested in putting that cash towards our home!
So we kind of secretly decided to elope, just the two of us! We were worried at first that friends and family might have hurt feelings over not being invited. But we decided that we would probably more enjoy a day with just the two of us and not having to worry about the stress that comes along with all our friends and family in one place all at the same time!
We don't plan to have children, which has been a bit of a sore subject for our parents. But both our siblings have multiple children ranging in age from 6 to 18, and we love spending time with our nieces and nephews.
Our "5 year plan" is to make some adjustments to our existing home in order to sell it so we can move "back home" where I grew up and build our dream house on the farm where my great-great-grandparents built their first home! (It was the first residence in the county to have indoor plumbing!)
We really look forward to spending the rest of our lives together with a house full of pets, traveling, camping and being with our families! I never thought it was possible to be so happy!
