Re: April 2013 Weddings
This is my first time on TN!
Well I'll be darned! Hi everyone!
I wonder if we can get a sticky for our board on The Knot with the link to this board so everyone knows where to find us.
How's married life treating everyone? For us, it's pretty much the same since we've been together for 9 years and lived together for 8. It's still sort of strange getting used to calling him my husband and hearing him call me his wife, but aside from that it's business as usual.
Anyone have any news to share? I know some of us were hoping for honeymoon babies and a couple were moving or looking/hoping for new jobs.

Yes! It worked! To answer ChiGirl, married life is awesome! We've been house hunting and haven't found any that are perfect but we keep going back to look at one that has the most potential. We'll have to redo the kitchen and bathroom if we want to make any money on it when we sell it but they're functional for the time being. I've got a good eye for what a space can look like but DH(I keep typing FI) has a hard time with it.
I started working at David's Bridal and I helped three girls find their dresses today in four hours! I was only training so I don't actually make a commission off of them but it felt awesome. My feet on the other hand, are killing me! Does anyone have any advice on what flats I should wear?
110 Invited!
RSVP Deadline: February 28th
I just got a pair of black Puma ballerina flats and I LOVE them. They are so comfortable! Also I have a pair of black Anne Klein flats that I love as well. I just bought a second pair!
yay! good job Ich, it worked!
Marriage life has been great so far, very busy, but great. We decided to renew our lease for 2 years back in March, so we have some extra time to save before we purchase a house. The wedding and honeymoon did a number on our savings, so now we are trying to regroup a little.
Work has been driving us both bananas. We've had a stressful couple of weeks in both of our jobs, which is never fun, but we've been trying to make the best of it. I've also finally caught up a little bit on organizing our condo and making it a little bit more personal. There is only so much we can do because we're renting, but we replaced and added some furniture and slowly getting art and photos together for the walls. We had some professional photos taken in Hawaii and we ordered one already and are ordering another one to be printed on metal. The one we have looks awesome.
adawn, so exciting about the baby! Keep us posted when you find out the sex!
Yay! Hi everyone! I keep checking TK message boards like once a week, but it hasn't been very active since everyone got married
I'm glad that we can all keep in touch here
ChiGirl, married life is pretty much the same for us. We've been together for 7 years and have been living together for the past few years, so being married is pretty much the same except I get to call him my husband now
RSVP Deadline: March 23

Yep, married life is the same as engaged life, just less wedding planning!
I'm glad to see everyone over here posting again!
Blondy, we're in the same boat. We've been together almost 10 years now and have lived together for 8 of them, plus we have a child together who is almost 6. I didn't think that getting married would be that big of a deal. I honestly didn't expect to feel any different after we got married but I do, in small ways. That was kind of a cool bonus that I totally wasn't anticipating.
We're STILL battling our jerk of a wedding coordinator to refund us money for services he didn't provide. We have the BBB involved and with every step, he just gets nastier and snottier. His last jab at us was to say that the only reason we want our money back is because we were upset that we had so few people attend our destination wedding. Ugh! So in a way, our wedding isn't "over" yet although not in a good way. I may be making another trip to Savannah for legal proceedings and maybe I can stretch it to add on a few days of fun and relaxation as well. If I have to be put through the wringer, why not put myself through some enjoyment as well, right?
We are going to take 2 years to try and pump up our savings & retirement accounts plus try to increase our credit scores even more. I am chomping at the bit to buy a house but we are also looking to adopt. I know that being in a house will look better for the adoption but the adoption will take so much longer that I really want to get started on that NOW. I wish we could do both at the same time but I don't know that my nerves could handle it. lol

Hey Everyone!
I've been checking the knot occasionally but not really posting. I started a new job right after we got back from our honeymoon and it's terrible so I'm back to looking again.
I wish we could start thinking about buying a place, but we like living in Manhattan so unless we hit the lottery it's not going to happen.
No honeymoon baby for us, we're still trying.
We had an awesome time in New Zealand (two weeks!), but I'm slacking on getting the photos off the camera. I'm busy with work and summer classes and just haven't had the time.
I'm back on WW and FINALLY losing weight. I've lost 7 lbs since the honeymoon!
Hubby's car finally died this week (it was 14 years old), so we had to go buy him a new one. We were planning on buying him a new one when we were expecting, so we knew it could be on the horizon, but we just hadn't anticipated it this second. It was a little nerve-wracking realizing that the car loan is something that affects OUR budget and therefore affects BOTH of us--but we'll be okay. It was just nice not having a car payment!
yay! glad to see this board! I haven't really been on TK. I am glad we are all making our way over here
Lets see married life has been great and super busy! We went on a minimoon right after the wedding to Florida, and it was the best. Very realaxing and great weather. The minute we returned we went right into house hunting. We have since found, bought and moved into our home! It feels good
Before we make any changes we are going to live in the house for a bit! No babies yet
I am still on BC and I think we are going to wait a little bit and enjoy being married!

RSVP Deadline: March 8
It really doesn't feel much different for me either. H and I have lived together pretty much for 4 years and we moved into our own place last year. The joke is we're legal now (if you know about Florida living laws you'll get it).
Went to the OBGYN in May and she gave me the all clear to go off BC, which I did, and she said we can start TTC in August! Super excited about that! I have a bad case of baby fever. So instead of counting down to that, I'm looking foward to our trip to NY coming up in 2 weeks! We're throwing a party for family and friends who couldn't make it down here for ours and his sister's wedding.
Hi ladies! This is the former 'lamoeller' - like others, when TK changed format, I couldn't log in and had to make a new account. Anyway, I just dropped by TK for old time's sake and saw that TN is the new place to be!
Married life is going well for us. It didn't feel much different until I got my name changed everywhere and now anyone I meet only knows me as "Mrs. NewLastName," My husband was traveling for work for 3-4 weeks in May and I got to use his company's benefit of flying a spouse out to see him instead of him coming home to me. We spent a couple weekends in St. Louis & Lake of the Ozarks area, so that was a fun mini-vacay.
Now that he's back home, we've been concentrating on house projects and enjoying summer....kinda hard when I'm in school 2 nights a week for my MBA, but I'll be all done in December so the light at the end of tunnel is getting me through!
Well, glad to see you all over here! Looking forward from updates from everyone, and baby news from blondii & adawn!
Hi all! Glad I finally found this board. Nice to see some of you from the Knot board; hope everyone is doing well
H and I are looking for new jobs since we have just finished our PhDs (I graduated last week). We have a number of applications in the mix now and have had interviews but for now it's just a matter of waiting... Really hoping something will work out before the end of the summer!
