I've been to a Trader Joe's once. For some reason, my dad got me a gift card for my birthday one year. I have to either go into Philly to visit one (and it's halfway across the city from where I work, and then am I supposed to take my groceries on the train??) or drive 45 minutes to the one in NJ. I don't even know where there's a Whole Foods, and I've never heard of Sprouts.

  • Out of the three, I chose TJ's. But we prefer Natural Grocers overall. Much bigger selection!

  • We don't have Sprouts, but Im a huge TJ fan. My produce lasts longer than anywhere else I buy it and I don't have to spend as much as I would at WF.

  • We don't have any of those :( we have an IGA that I shop at often and then 30 miles away there is a County Market that we frequent. I commute 60 miles a day to work and back and there is not a single grocery store in any if the town I drive by (just thought I would throw that out there....)

  • I voted whole foods because it really is my favorite... But the closest one is almost half an hour away, so I don't go often. I have a TJ less than 10 minutes away, so that's where I do a good majority of my shopping.

    ...hello out there!

  • We don't have any of those.  No TJs in Canada and the closest WF is 5 hours away.  I've been to WF a number of times and while it's a beautiful store with lots of great things, I can't imagine shopping there on a regular basis.  It's far too expensive.

  • TJ's is too far for me, but there is a WF coming soon. We'll shop there once it opens. I've been buying lots of organic foods sice our dx (or non-dx?). I'm willing to cut going out for dinner twice a month to make up the difference.

  • I really don't have any of these available to me. I think the closest Whole Foods is near Pittsburgh and I'm definitely not going there on a regular basis just for groceries! I always wanted to go to Trader Joe's because I've heard awesome things about it but I don't even know where the closest one is. I do most of my shopping at Wal-Mart or some of the other local grocery stores around here.

  • I like all of them for different things, but picked TJs because we get 90% of our groceries there. I don't care for their produce, so I get that at Sprouts when I can, and I love WF for beer, wine and cheese.

  • Thanks all! I realize that these chains are def not as prevalent on the east coast but that's def some great feedback. I'm looking at places that have more vegan and cruelty free options, esp for dairy. (And meat for dh) that's why I was asking about these specifically. :-)

  • I go to Wegman's, Aldi, a local chain and Price Chopper.

Wegman's is my first choice though!

  • We don't have any of these options where I live in Canada. We do have a local chain that offers mostly fresh produce, meat and some groceries but most are organic which is my go to spot. It is way cheaper than shopping organic and any of the larger chains.
