Chili recipes

Does anyone have an amazing chili recipe?  My work is having a chili cook off in a couple of weeks.

I guess I should take this opportunity to state that not only have I never made chili, I've never even tasted it before :O  I'm not a big fan of beans!

Re: Chili recipes

  • My usual chili go to is a cre*my white chicken chili. I've made this recipe many times in the past for contests and just general pot lucks and I've been told that it's "blow your nipples off" good. I happen to really like it but for the record, my nips are still intact.

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1-1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
    • 1 tablespoon canola oil
    • 2 cans (15-1/2 ounces each) great northern beans, rinsed and drained
    • 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) chicken broth
    • 2 cans (4 ounces each) chopped green chilies
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 cup (8 ounces) Daisy Brand® Sour Cream
    1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

DirectionsIn a large saucepan, saute the chicken, onion and garlic powder in oil until chicken is no longer pink. Add the beans, broth, chilies and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.Remove from the heat; stir in sour cream and cream. Yield: 7 servings.

  • I have a white chicken chili recipe similar to Heather's, only there's no heavy cream and I serve the sour cream on the side along with some sliced avocado.  I know it's not a standard chili recipe, but everyone raves about it, like Heather mentioned.

  • I've used this as a base: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/boilermaker-tailgate-chili/

I change things up a bit according to my tastes (I like really spicy!) but I have won my friend's chili cook off the last two years!  I love chili so much.
