my first pregnancy symptom

my lower back is killing me.  and I was thinking it might be from the long flight yesterday but now i'm wondering if its just a pregnancy symptom?

did anyone else experience this?

Also, I had blood work for my second beta done this morning. So i'm anxiously awaiting a call from the doctor!

Re: my first pregnancy symptom

  • It could be either of those things. I get knots and tightness pregnant or not so I never know id it's pregnancy or tension or I sat funny :-p Yoga helps stretch me out and work on those back muscles, so try keep that up. Eventually, a prenatal massage is wonderful too! GL with beta #2!! Keep us updated

  • When I got pregnant with Lucy that was one of the reasons I tested. My lower back was crampy, like when I get AF, but I wasn't doing anything but spotting. I tested and now I have an adorable kid who hates being dropped off at daycare.

  • I noticed back pains pretty early into it, even though back pain has been common with me the past couple years. I'm sure it could be a little bit of both in your case. Have you looked into pregnancy yoga? I do it every couple of days and it feels good to do a few of the stretches.

  • @ayres12 I do take a yoga class regularly and tonight is yoga night so i'm hoping it will help. I talked to the RE's office about my exercise and they're fine with me continuing on as normal.

    Oh that's great to hear!

  • I also have had a crampy/sore lower back throughout this pregnancy, and I always had back pain with AF, so it only made sense to have it while pregnant.

I hope you feel better soon!

  • I do also want to clarify that I am not complaining....I have wanted this for so long and will take any symptoms that are thrown at me.
  • Don't worry, just because you want to be pregnant doesn't mean you can never complain (even though I know you're not complaining this time). Pregnancy is rough at times. I'm glad you are taking it all in though. It's so awesome to experience every new part of being pregnant. And I know it's a relief to have pregnancy symptoms at the beginning because it makes it feel more real. ;)

  • I didn't have any back pain until my belly was big enough to change my posture.
