NBR: It's officially October in my time zone
I'm so excited for constant horror movies (clown free, of course), parties, costumes, haunted houses, and my annual rereading of Pet Sematary.
Still haven't figured out this year's costume. Not sure if we're doing a couples theme or individual ideas. My corgi is definitely getting a costume, too.
What are you guys doing? What about the kids?
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

DS is going to be a dinosaur this year. This is the costume he'll be wearing.

Alex has two costume options. A monkey or winnie the pooh. I have to convince mh to dress up as christopher robin and find Remy a Tigger costume.
We just got DD's costume over the weekend. She's going to be a monkey. I was thinking of making her an owl costume, but then I was honest with myself and realized that I probably wouldn't get it done in time, and would stress myself out over it. Plus, when we were in Marshall's a couple of weeks ago, she completely flipped out over this monkey costume, and she flipped out over it again when we went back this weekend, so we just got it for her.
DH and I aren't planning to dress up, unless someone invites us to a halloween party.
So far the only scary plans we have is that we're doing a ghost tour in Newport toward the end of the month.
Sugar & Spice
The adults in our family don't dress up for Halloween.... but our girl is going to be Marie Antoinette. She's obsessed with that woman. Last year she said "I would like to visit Marie Antoinette's house." (So we booked a trip to Paris and made a stop at Versailles en route to Morocco.)
Hrmph. Maybe that's why this October is not exciting me that much. Last year we were traveling the entire month. This year? Not doing a darn thing!
Although my daughter has decided that she wants to see where Leonardo da Vinci lived and worked. So maybe we'll have to work on making that happen! lol.

October is so awesome! We're going to a Halloween party this year where a majority of my friends will be dressing up as HP characters. DH and I are going as Luna Lovegood and Sirius Black. I'm fast at work on my scarf and lion hat. We have friends going as Bellatrix, Ron, Ginny, a Snitch, and MAYBE a Mad Eye Moody.
Bella is going to be a Bee for Halloween and Wylie is going to be a Dinosaur. I love dressing my dogs up!
This year DH and I are going to be Mary Poppins and Bert from the sidewalk sequence in Mary Poppins, and Ally and Charlie are going to be penguins. I've got everyone's costume planned out but mine - I have no idea how I am going to pull this off!
52 Books in 2014??

My sweet babies:

my read shelf:
@Skeezon - I am not a fan of holidays that feature children hopped up on sugar and mischief who try and deliberately scare me. I am also not a fan of being scared. Or the dark. Or clowns. Halloween is the day that all of these things usually come to pass.
@MrsC7 - Me too. :-( It's going to be dark at like, 4pm now. Boo.
On the costume front I don't know if I will have to work or if I will be able to dress up this year. I hope to find out soon so I can plan. Until then my friend has asked me to make a costume for his middle daughter. She is going to be Harley. I am kind of excited. I have already made a Snow White and a Repunzel costume this year.
That is my niece in the first picture and the second dress was for my other niece. Don't mind the dork in the second picture. I thought my husband had taken a close up of the dress.
However, we have an office Halloween party, and I work on a programming team. Running around as a blonde fantasy icon in a midriff-baring outfit didn't sound like a good idea. So for the office party, I will be asking people "What does the fox say?"
