Elsewheres

::waves::

I've been very MIA.  I'm sorry!  What's going on over here?

Is anyone else active on other boards?  I'm really active on The Bump.  No side eyes!  Hahaha.  Jay and I are 33 - we're at that age.  I've spent a bazillion hours learning about pregnancy and child-related stuff to feel more prepared.  We've joined that dark side of "not trying / not preventing" but I'm not sure I'll ever be "zomg!  BABBBBBY!!"  I'm a little scurred mostly.

I was also on a Knot off-board for a time.  I left there a few months ago - it wasn't for me.  I do occasionally roll by The Treehouse, but it's rare.

I do see familiar faces over on The Bump from time to time (uneek, Rummy).  I'm not close to anyone there like I am to you guys, though!

So - what's new?

Re: Elsewheres

  • Why hello old friend.  Yes you have been MIA!  So has most everyone :-/   I think there are about 5 of us that consistently post over here, but that is dwindling.

I am still to scared to go over to the bump, although I lurk on GP here on the nest which I don't think it much better.

My knot off board kills me, but I stay in the loop with local happenings so I don't quit it.

off the interwebz I am finally on a 4 day schedule (today is my off day) WAHOOOOOO.  I am still running fairly consistently and ummmmmm I don't think anything else is too exciting.

  • woo hooooooooooooo!  Good job, jlq!!

A four day a week schedule sounds like heaven, Aggie!  I'd love one work day a week to catch up.

  • I have actually been thinking about you quite a bit lately and your transition to TTC.

I feel like I have started down the same road as you except I quit BCP due to migraines and it is H who is freaking out about not really being ready :P

    How is work going?

  • Well JLQ  H isn't either.  Like really NOT, but my health came first so weirdly we took a small "step" in that direction.  A very small step, but it will help when the time comes.

And I sorry your H isn't ready at the same time you are, but he will come around soon enough.

  • I've missed this place this week! It's been busy and taking on a second daycare girl is killing my comeback on here!!! Boo!

As exciting as having kids is it really is scary!! I feel like I'm in denial constantly about this second one on the way. I wouldn't change anything and can't imagine life without ds but boy oh boy
  • Something we realized is there never is an ideal time...if you wait for everything to be perfect before trying you'll have waited too long. At least here in Canada I feel that way - we don't have to worry about the medical cost involved with having a baby so it's a bit less stressful in some ways.

Woah.  We're not *trying* - we're just not preventing.  It's totally different.  .......right?  :-)

Jay has said for years that he's fine with whatever happened.  It wouldn't have been ideal, but we would make it work.  I was still stark-raving petrified.  I still am.  But, things are really well settled now with life - it's time.

My period should be here in the next few days - you better believe I'm watching like a HAWK.  I want it and don't want it in equal measure.  But, truthfully, I would prefer it doesn't happen the first month we stop preventing.  I want some time to relax and have fun, ya know?

I also don't want to have morning sickness during Christmas and our trip to Florida.

  • Aggie - what are you using now for birth control?  I do the whole charting with basal body temps and CM.  It worked *really* well for the past seven months.  I love having that level of understanding of my body.  High five, jlq!

Is your head any better with being off?  Mine is in ways.  In other ways, it's a bit worse.  Excedrin continues to be my trusted friend.
  • Haha that is why I said transitioning ttc ;-)

I have started fertility awareness method but my body sucks so it will probably take 6+ months for me to get a reasonable pattern.

I haven't been off long enough to know about my head but they haven't been worse? Only time will tell if I will I have a 3 week headache in the future.

YES! That makes me happy for you! I'm so glad that it's working well and you're understanding your body more, that's fantastic!!!
