Recs please: romantic suspense/thriller

I'm looking for a really good romantic thriller. Something really creepy or suspenseful with a romantic twist. Stand alone or series is fine. Paranormal is fine, or not. I'm easy.

Of those that I see rec'd often, I've read NR's Sign of Seven trilogy, as well as Three Sisters (does that technically fit the bill? I don't know). I started the Key Trilogy, but I didn't love it so I haven't continued beyond the first book.

  • I tend to think of her trilogies as more romance than thriller but her standalones are good.  Try Chasing Fire.

I agree! I'm looking for something with a bit more of a creep factor, but I love the romantic elements too.

I feel like maybe I've reading Chasing Fire. I'll have to check GR.

    ETA: nope! I haven't. Added!
ETA again: Maybe I should say "creep factor" and/or suspense.

  • Have you read The Fever series? If not, you should try it!

  • Homeport and Sanctuary are good as well.  Would you do medical thrillers with a tiny bit of romance?

  • Linda Howard writes romantic thrillers.  They're pretty good.

  • Try the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell.  Very well written and researched.

  • I read Every Breath She Takes by Norah Wilson a while back and enjoyed it. It's about a psychic who can foresee people's deaths and tries to stop them. Not really creepy at all though.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.

  • Recent romantic suspense-

Midnight Secrets by Ella Grace (first in a new trilogy)

    Catherine Mann's Dark Ops series

The Ideal Man by Julie Garwood

The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series by Lori Foster

Elite Ops Series by Lora Leigh

  • Have you read the Black Dagger Brotherhood? I am kind of heavily involved with that series right now and really enjoying it. And even though it's about vampires, vampires aren't really my thing, and I like the series anyway.
