Need a book recommendation

I've decided to form a small, super casual book club with a few girlfriends. Honestly, it is more for an excuse to get together because we don't get to see each other much these days. I have been in a major book rut though lately and I don't know what to recommend. I was thinking maybe something spooky for this month. Preferably something not super long or a hard read because one of my friends is in school and doesn't have a lot of extra time to read. Any suggestions? We are all YA fans. We love vampires :) (the book club is taking place of our Vampire Diaries gtgs because they don't work for our schedules anymore :( )

Re: Need a book recommendation

  • Anna Dressed in Blood. It's not the BEST BOOK EVAR, but it is a quick easy read, a little creepy, a little gory.

Vellichor: The strange wistfulness of used bookstores
  • The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. It's not YA, but it's such a perfect October read.

  • The Diviners by Libba Bray is very creepy and set in one of my favorite time periods, the 1920s. There is some supernatural craziness, a serial killer, speakeasies, and flappers 1920s New York. Good fun along with the scariness.

  • Thanks! I will see which one everyone want to read most :)

@j*&p* I LOVED the Diviners because of the time period.  Can you recommend any other books set in the 20's, with flappers and speakeasies etc.?

  • We decided on The Diviners! I put the other two on my list though, they all sounded great. Thanks ladies!

  • The Night Strangers by Chris Bohjalian is perfect.  It is a quick read, just enough spooky and great for discussion.
    90 books in 2015?

  • Bad Girls Don't Die
    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers
  • The Coldest Girl in Coldtown would be good too!
