Halloween costumes: did your little ones decide?

We have a dress up bin and a few places to wear costumes so for trick or treating, we'll see the temps but she can pick between the family costume or her own like a princess, ninja, astronaut (with 2 other dads near us, the 3 of them stand in a driveway and point to a house and they pass out candy and dress up, 3 Stooges, Pens fans, etc). For family events like Hallowboo or Zoo Boo, DD will be Wonder Woman and DD2 is batgirl (mama is superman and daddy is green lantern. She wants to be Belle for her school party

  • Liam is being this monster (my coworker is loaning me the costume, woohoo!)

Jake is still undecided...I *think* he's finally narrowed it down to a Ninja Turtle (previously, he's been going back & forth between that, Captain America, a knight, or Thor)....at this point, I just need him to pick a Ninja Turtle color & stick with it :)

  • Madi went back and forth this year but finally settled on Izzy from Jake and Neverland Pirates. So I ordered from Disney Store. Much better than the $80 options in that Chasing Fireflies catelog that comes in the mail. We lucked out last year with going to Disney in Sept, she wanted to wear her cinderella costume from the BBB.
  • EJ said she wanted to be a disney princess this year but didn't decide until we were at costco a few weeks ago and they had costumes. She chose Rapunzel. Easy for me (cause I wasn't going to sew a princess dress). I did tell her I would knit her a new winter sweater though.
  • Brinley has been sticking pretty solidly to Ariel, but I haven't broken down and bought the costume yet.  If she sticks with it, I think it would be fun to dress Nolan as King Triton, if I can figure out how to do that....

  • Emmy it must think you are TWICE as nice. :)
  • Mason wants to be Batman and Garrett will probably Spiderman.  DH and I will dress as superheroes too, I'm just not sure what yet!  (Since I haven't found many female superhero costumes that aren't really just a superwhore costume.)  I was thinking of doing a Batman theme and having DH go as the Joker, I'll go as Catwoman, and Garrett will be Robin - but Robin is kind of lame, and I'd rather he go as a real superhero.  (I clearly have too much time on my hands!)
  • Meghan--last year, we found superhero shirts with capes (adult!) for me & Brian.  Non trashy ones, since that was my concern, too (I wanted them to wear to Jake's party) I had Robin & Brian had batman, we found them at Spirit.

  • Conall wants to be Spiderman, which works for me because we have it in their dress up box already!

Gavin wants to be a Ninja, so I bought the outfit online already. Of course, I just found that they have all of the bits and pieces for the costume in the Dollar Store, but I think with discounts and my Ebates percentage back, his costume came to around $23. Not bad!

Sean - no clue. I suggested Batman, but DH won't commit. I have a couple of 12-mo animal costumes in a bin somewhere in the garage, but DH didn't unpack the moving truck the way I had asked (leaving clothing and Christmas bins in the front), so I have no idea if he'll be willing to help rearrange the garage for me to find the costumes! *sigh*

    My three sons!

  • Nolan wants to be Wolverine and Hayden isn't quite sure yet.

  • Brody wants to be Hulk.  My parents bought him the costume at Costco with fake muscles.  They're going to give it to him for his birthday, he's going to die when he sees it.  Noah hasn't decided yet.

Of course dd wants to be Belle and that's one of the ones not on sale.
    :-L

  • Todd wants to be Batman and he's been consistent about it for months. We'll probably go to Party City this weekend to buy it since we have a Halloween event October 5th.

Heather wants to be Merida. The wig and quiver and boots are bought. I have cut out all of the fabric and I hope to start sewing this weekend. She's prepared to wear last year's costume to the October 5th event. Overall, I've spent more on her costume than I usually like to, but the boots can be worn all year and the rest will get played with and worn a decent amount.

Thanks!  We need to go in full costume because we're 5 years old.  Coincidentally, my friend has an annual Halloween party and this year her theme is Heroes and Villains, so that will work out!  Last year it was James Bond, so our Jake and the Neverland Pirates costumes were kind of out of place, LOL!

Dd chose a while ago and stuck with it: Ariel. She has some Ariel dressed already but they are beat up!

I just bought hers at TRU this past weekend because I had 20% off coupon but of course today I get a 30% off coupon there and saw the Disney store email for 25% off!

I want to try and find a costume for the dog of flounder or Sebastian! Is Sebastian a crab or lobster??? I swear I always thought lobster but then read he was a crab. I saw a lobster costume the other day

ETA: I just searched and saw a pretty easy option to make a flounder dog costume. I think I may do that!

  • Claire is going to be Doc McStuffins from Disney Jr :)
  • I bought this costume when I was pregnant, so I think he's going to wear this

But Casey is a huge Green Lantern fan (way before the movie, he got the green lantern symbol tattooed on his back 20 years ago), and I bought this from Amazon as a surprise - so we'll see!

We have no plans for Halloween this year and that makes me very very sad.

  • Olivia is being Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for the 2nd time. We had to get a new costume though because the one she had is a 2T. Thankfully, I took advantage of the Target Cartwheel deal for 50% off all children's costumes and got everything for $20.

Alex is being a bumble bee. I found a Gymbo one at a consignment store for $8. Score!

  • DD is being a candy corn witch (her pick) and DS wants to be a shark.
  • DD wants to be Sofia or Doc McStuffins. Unfortunately, she wears size 8 or 10 - and I can't find much of anything in those sizes. :(

I just ordered Madeline a cute Doc McStuffins headband wig for only $ 10 on etsy for Madeline. I wanted the pigtails that stand up like the cartoon.  Melissa and Doug make a cute doctor dress up set that fits an older child.

  • Logan is going to be a giraffe since he still can't tell us what he wants to be and it was on sale at once upon a child. :)

  • A is going to be princess Ariel in her ballgown thanks to a costume I found at TJ Maxx. Not sure if we will ge red wig or not. P is going to be the Hulk (again). He was Baby Hulk for his first Halloween. He also insisted on the Captain America costume at Costco at the same time, but he keeps saying Hulk when he is asked, so we shall see...
