Its THURSDAY!

I really don't know what makes it so exciting,  That's is pseudo excitement there.

Today is CE day, so my colleagues and I will drive into DC to listen to a lecture and eat crappy food for lunch.  Its good CE so I shouldn't complain, but gosh I don't sit still well.

Wassup with you? anything super exciting? anything super boring? anything?

Re: Its THURSDAY!

  • Thursday!!
Yesterday felt like Friday so the fact that there is still today and tomorrow before the weekend is a bit sad.

I only have my one daycare girl today and tomorrow and my new one starts Monday so I'm trying to enjoy the quieter days before the insanity. I'm going to bake pumpkin bread today! Super excited for that! Dh wants me to make cinnamon rolls but we don't have everything we need and if I go to the store I have to walk uphill both ways! Not something this lady wants to do with two toddlers in a stroller and a baby growing inside. At least not today.

Also where is my fall weather!! I hate wearing shorts and having to shave my legs in October on a good day never mind pregnant! Grrr Mother Nature.
  • HI LADIES!!!  I'm not sure if you remember me but I'm Evita (LBV for short.)  I used to hang around here quite a bit but haven't been around in awhile.  Hopefully you'll still let me join the convo
    [-O<

I'm not sure how it happened but for some reason I have nothing to do today.  Our work studies finally started which took a lot off my plate.  It's nice to finally get a breather considering how super, crazy busy we've been the past two months.  I'm actually starting to be paranoid because I feel like I should be doing something but can't remember what that something is.

Not much is new with me.  Travel season has started at work so that's always interesting.  Although I was sick as a dog this past weekend and there is nothing worse on Earth than flying while sick.  How is everyone?

Echo - you're getting a new little one to watch?  Good luck!  And enjoy your pumpkin bread!

Aggie - Enjoy your CE even though you're not looking forward to it.  What's the topic today?

  • Lbv- I am likely crazy. This new one I'm watching is 10 months so she'll be 1 at the end of November. Eventually her, ds and my other daycare girl will all be at the same developmental level but right now the 8 months makes a huge difference. Throw in a new born in 3 months and it'll be a party!!
  • Yay for a break at work.

My topic is behavior. Which is incredibly frustrating in clinic and typically a yawn to listen to. But they have Dr Pepper available for the first time ever so it's not all bad :-D.

    ::tackles EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE::

What's up?  What's new?  Tell me a story.
  • Wow Echo, yeah you are pretty nuts!  But good for you!

Aggie - haha I'm happy they have Dr. Pepper for you.  Do you think they have it since it's an event for doctors? (lame joke, I know.)

HI JOY!!!!!!!!!!  Hmm what's new?  DH just got a new job so that's super exciting!  It's for the same company but in a new department.  It comes with a major pay increase so we're pumped about that.  He informed me yesterday that we can now redo the master bath much earlier than anticipated.  (It's seriously bad.  Neither one of us has ever even turned on the shower and we've only used the toilet, literally, twice)  It needs to be done before a baby comes so the extra money will definitely come in handy.

DH and I are officially TTC (did you all know that?  I can't remember) rather than just not preventing/we'll see what happens.  I think I'm finally on board for a baby because I took a pregnancy test last month and it was negative and I was disappointed.  I'm sure once it comes back positive (::knocks on wood::), I'll be a big ball of anxiety but for now I'm good with our TTC decision.  We'll see!

Other than that, I'm off to Ohio next week for work.  I'm sure I'll be incredibly bored the entire time but I'll get some good reading in :)

What's new with you?  Do I dare ask how the construction is going?

  • Woooooo hoooo!!!  Congrats on making that leap, EE!  If you read my last thread, you'll see we're just not preventing.  I'm excited for you!

Congrats to Mr. EEE on the new job!

I'm also sincerely jealous of you redoing your master bathroom.  We only have one bathroom in our house (city houses are small, yo), and we really want to re do it.  I want a large tiled shower along one wall with two shower heads and more storage.  We'll get there in a few years!
  • Hi Ladies! I was out sick yesterday, Glad to see Joy and E are back. We missed you around these parts. Not too much going on here. The landscapers started last week, they hit the spectic pipe the first day but H and one of them fixed it that night. So far they are doing better, haven't broke anything else. Can't wait till it is finished. I want to put some mums on my new front walkway.

Joy/E/Aggie: Excited for you all! That is such a big step!

Joy: How goes the wall? Hopefully good! Crossing fingers and toes!

JLQ: I am not TTC if it make you feel better. Also wohoo on those test!

    Echo: Yummy pumpkin bread!

  • The wall is the bane of our existence right now.

    Hallway is sanded and painted.

Bedroom still needs mud and sand.  Then I'll paint.  It'll probably be about a month.

I need to stain the door to this new room this weekend.

    Then... ya know... baseboards.
  • Joy: Sounds like progress! Can't wait to see the final product.

  • E! The worst part of getting a positive is then you have 38 weeks to overthink everything!! But then you get a bundle of joy! And there are other sucky parts in between but all is worth it for that blessing...but it's scary!

I'm also jealous of your h's pay increase meaning you can do renos...my second daycare child means we can buy a van....but eventually it'll mean we can do renos we want.

Pumpkin bread smells awesome!! It's my first pumpkin baking of the year! I have a recipe for pumpkin cinnamon rolls but need to buy a few things.

I just bought a pumpkin that I can cook up in the oven.  I'm excited to make stuff with it like pumpkin bread and pie!
  • Echo - I don't deal well with change so a kid is the ultimate lifechanger.  Even when we were getting married, I knew that if it didn't work out we would just get divorced (not that I ever think that will happen).  You can't divorce a kid!  Eek.  Yeah so I try not to things too much otherwise my brain goes into overdrive.  But thank you for your encouraging words :)

hi Degrea!  Oooh landscaping! I would love to hire a landscaper, I'm very jealous :)  How long will it take?

Joy - sorry about the wall.  At least it sounds like things are progressing, even if it's much slower than you would like.  You'll get through it!!

I'm not a big pumpkin person.  I feel like I always miss out this time of year because everyone is obsessing about pumpkins and I just can't get on the bandwagon.  Oh well, more for the rest of you right?

Fifth Anniversary 1000 Comments 100 Love Its First Answer
    edited October 2013
Hello! There's so much posting going on today, I love it!!!!
I'm really mad because I got an 88 on my psychology test. And I know that's not a bad score, but I'm mad because I changed one of the answers to a multiple choice question, and had I not done that I would have had a 90 and gotten an A. I know better than to change answers, so I don't know why I did that. Oh well. It's an improvement on my last grade, so if I keep doing that I'll be in good shape.

E - Do your work study students normally start so late into the semester? I did work study, and I always started the same day the semester did. Congrats to your DH on his new job! And YAY for TTC! Wishing you all the best!
Degrea - It does make me feel better, honestly. I feel like everyone is trying to have a baby but me. And I can't wait to see your landscaping!

I don't like pumpkin, either. I think it's really gross.
