Do you read WIJFR/WIAR posts?

We are a book club but I realize that I hardly read posts that are WIJFR etc. unless I have heard of/read the book.  I love discussing books and I feel bad that I don't open more of those posts.

Do you always read WIJFR posts?

Do you think if the genre was listed in the title you would be more inclined to open it?  For example, if it said "WIJFR: ABC (paranormal)", I might skip over it but if it said "WIJFR: XYZ (historical fiction)" I would probably open it.

Re: Do you read WIJFR/WIAR posts?

  • I do sometimes, as long as there are no spoilers.  It really depends if the book sounds familiar or has an interesting title.

  • Sometimes I do. Often when I am looking for something new to read or if the book title catches my eye.

  • I don't always read them. I guess I'm more likely to read them if I've read the book. Otherwise I'll probably look at it if the title sounds interesting or it's something I've been considering reading.

Having some kind of comment besides the title definitely makes it more interesting, and if it was SciFi I would be much more likely to open it since that's fairly uncommon around here!

  • I do depending on if I have read it/spoilers posted. I get a lot of great recs from you ladies.
  • As long as there is no spoilers then I almost always open them! I am always interested in a different read! I usually check what they have to say then check out the book on Goodreads and if I am interested I add it to my TBR on Goodreads :-)

  • I usually do, though I rarely comment on those.  I always open posts on books I've read or am interested in reading, and also if it's someone who tends to love the same kinds of books that I do.

I agree that an additional few words about your review (rave, wtf, etc.) makes me more likely to open it.

  • I usually don't. I would probably open more if the genre was added to the post title and it fell in an area I like.

I have such a large TBR list that I don't actively look for more books to read, but would like to discuss more if possible.
  • If it's a book I've read, I'll always open it and usually comment. If I haven't read the book, I always open the post if there are no spoilers but I rarely comment because I don't have anything to add to the discussion.

  • If it's something I've read, I always open it, and often comment.

If I haven't read it but am already interested in the book and there are no spoilers, I usually always open it.  If there are spoilers for a book I'm interested in, I never open it.

If there was a tag with some more detail, I'd be more likely to read the ones for books I've never heard of (assuming the tag indicated something I'm interested in).

    Yup.

  • I try to always open the ones for books I have read. I will often open the non spoilers for books I have not read. If we were to start marking the post with a bit more information i would most likely read a few more.

  • You know what I HATE about these posts? When I open one and it is just the poster asking what she should read next and not actually talking about the book.

  • If I want to read it and it says NS, then yes.
If I have read it, then yes, regardless of spoilers.

I love those posts. I do think having genre would make me more inclined to open posts where I have not heard of the book.
