Hoping this was just a crazy person firing at the ceiling or something. Prayers to everyone that is there.

I just have goosebumps all over and this feeling of dread. WTF is going on? I feel like America has reached a point of being unable to function.

Is it sad that I'm not surprised? With the shutdown, I feel like it was only a matter of time before some crazy lost his marbles about not getting a paycheck.

I know that in the midst of stories, there is always unreliable twitter noise, but im reading that they rammed the gate at the White House, led a car chase to the capital building and then shots were fired there. Geesh.

Newest reports say it is a women who was the driver and that she had a child in the back seat.

Uuuuuuuuugh. Firing shots is a good way to get shot at yourself, period, but SERIOUSLY?! You're going to shoot at THAT high of a target WITH a kid in the back?!?

Thankfully, no. I work in VA and DH works in MD (where the President was speaking this morning!)

A bunch of friends work on the Hill and they said they were on lockdown with couches barricading their doors.

Ugh, I have so many feelings on this, but I don't know how to articulate them. I also don't want to start a political debate as a by product. Even though I've been trying to keep up with all the info, I don't know that I'm really able to comment on it intelligently.
