FFQs

1) Is a serious increase in CM normal? Total TMI, but it drips out when I pee sometimes. Should I be worried that it's too much?

2) When did you find a pediatrician?

    1.  Totally normal.  Pantiliners became my best friend 2nd & 3rd tri.

    2.  We waited late, but I think it was around 34ish weeks?  I'm related to our pedi, so that was a factor too.  We didn't need to do a lot of searching

I started doing this lately. Except, DH caught me today and freaked out that I was bleeding again like in 1st tri. It was definitely a TMI explanation LOL

  • 1) normal. Like MOA said, panty liners are your friend.
    2) after she was born. I waited to meet the pedi on duty in the hospital, decided I likes her and that's who we see.

  • 1. Yep, normal.

    2.  We chose one randomly from the same office my OB is associated with since they don't do meet and greets.  She happened to be on extended vacation when DD was born, so they sent a different doc from the office.  We liked her a lot so we stuck with her instead of ever starting with our original choice when she returned.  Also the docs are family docs, not just Pedi's so I can go to the same doc/office which is super convenient especially on days like today when we both were able to get flu shots at one time/location.

  • I picked out a pediatrician pretty early. I think early in the second trimester. I got recommendations from friends with kids, from my local board, and read online reviews before selecting my top choice. I called to see if they were accepting new patients (they were) and per their instructions called back later in pregnancy (7 months) to schedule a consultation which I went to at almost 8 months pregnant. I was very happy so that was the pediatrician I selected. The practice I chose did not have privileges at the hospital where I delivered so my OB made a recommendation for a pedi to see in the hospital.

I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love.
  • I chose our pedi in early third tri. I chose her based on recommendations from my girlfriends with LO's.

  • I picked Ava Nichol's pedi in 2nd tri. She actually sees the same practice I went to as a child. It is a father daughter practice and I saw the father because he is a pediatric endocrinologist and I saw him for my growthhormone deficiency.

I really love our pedi and It eases my anxiety to know tthat if we have problems with her growth then she is already where she needs to be to get diagnosed and treated as well as with a doctor who knows my history. I don't know if my GHD is genetic or not and it won't show in her until after she is 2 so I have a lot of anxiety around that.

We drive further than most people for her but I think having a really good relationship is super important. If she needs to be seen immediately we have an ER and urgent care closer.

    2) When did you find a pediatrician?

    1) Yes. I wore a pantiliner almost daily with DS.

    2) I was in 3 rd tri. We got a great rec from a CW and met with him, and that was it. I really liked him. We recently had to change and I was really sad about it.

  • 1) ditto the others. I've had more CM this pregnancy than last time.

    2) I also chose him in 3rd tri. I had asked my OB for recommendations and looked up the practice. I always felt more comfortable with a male anything really so I met with a male ped. "interviewed" him and practices welcome this so don't feel foolish. he's the only one I met with but I love him and his practice.
