Just another manic Monday

Goooooooooood morning!!!
How are you fine ladies today?
How was your weekend?

Mine was alright. I worked Saturday&Sunday night, which was lame. I did hardly any schoolwork, which was terrible. We finally finished Fringe on Netflix and we are not happy at all with the ending. WTF Fringe, WTF.
They put the latest season of HIMYM on Netflix, sooo obviously that will consume us now.

I have to do my A&P project this week. I'm making a book about the human eye. Like an actual hardcover book. It should be pretty cool if I ever finish it. haha!

Re: Just another manic Monday

  • Gooood morning!

Happy Monday.  Our weekend was pretty good. We went on a 8.5 mi hike on Sat.  Titus dog went with us and loved it, but poor guy cut his paws pretty good.  He is still limping around a bit.  But don't let that fool you, as soon as I put on running clothes he is bouncing like a wild man ready to go no matter what his feet say.  Of course, I wouldn't let him go but he doesn't get that lol!

Yesterday was super lazy which I needed.  When I was meal planning last weekend I didn't realize it was going to be 90 degrees yesterday when I made soup!  Oh well it was still good :)

Hi Ho! Hi Ho! Its off to work I go :)

  • Hi everyone!! My weekend was great! I finished my CPST class and am now officially a Child Passenger Safety Technician.  I also was the only one in the class who scored 100% on all the tests so I am being recommended to go to Virginia later this year to get a special certification in special needs carseats, it is 4 days completely paid for by NHTSA and DOT.  I am so stoked!  I haven't taken any classes of any sort since I dropped out of college 15 years ago so it is nice to know I can still learn :-)

On another note my babies are 11 mos old today.... I can't believe I am planning their first birthday party, where did the last year go??

Lastly we are in escrow on a house.... eep!  It's a short sale but the bank is promising a 10 day turn around so we could know in like 2 weeks which means we would be packing and moving right through Thanksgiving/Hanukkah/Christmas.  Cue, total freakout.

  • jlq... that is how I got into ophthalmology.  When I was in HS I had to made a 3D project on a body part and did the eye.  It was so interesting I made a career of it.

aggie... poor puppy. Hopefully he is back to running with you soon. I know nothing about enthusiastic dogs, Bubba spends 80% of the day sleeping.

  • Morning!!

Jlq - are you talking about the 8th season of HIMYM? That just came on Canadian Netflix so I'm all over it. Dh is just starting to watch with me but were on season 2. I told him I couldn't wait for him to get caught up but I'll still watch with him.

Aggie- dogs are nuts!! Bauer had a sore on his foot for awhile but he would be so insane and dumb.

Jodi!! Your girls are adorable and so big!! That's exciting about the house but stressful too. Hopefully it works out and is a peaceful experience lol

I did not accomplish much this weekend. I wanted to accomplish some deep cleaning of the house so that from here tell baby it would be maintaining clean...yeah that didn't so much happen. I managed most of one bathroom and I washed the kitchen floor....oh well! Next weekend is thanksgiving for us Canadians so I won't get anything done since we'll be visiting my family.

Today is my first full day with my new daycare girl and so far so good. She's down for her first nap and went down super easy which is awesome. So now it's ds and my other girlie who are just playing quietly till snack time.
  • Good Morning! I had a good weekend as well. My sister new place is really nice and a block from a private beach. Yea we will be visiting her in the summer. I am still feeling sick. Whatever was is my nose has moved to my throat, great. :(

Echo: Glad things are going smoothly. Yummy Thanksgiving!

Jodi: Time flies! Congrats on your test.

Aggie: Sounds like an awesome weekend! Hope your puppy is doing better.

JLQ: Not sure why but eyes gross me out. But sounds like a cool project.

  • Jodi!  Your girls are so big!!!!!  And so flipping adorable as well :)

Aggie - what kind of soup did you make?  Also, poor monster dog :(  Good thing he has good parents to take care of him

jlq - good luck with your book!

Echo - good luck with your new girl. You'll do fine, I'm sure of it.

    Feel better degrea!

Not a lot going on here.  We had a very quiet weekend which is always nice :)  I leave for a recruiting trip tomorrow so I'm trying to get everything situated in the office.  Super fun times.  I'm thankful because an audiobook just came in so I can listen to that while on my roadtrip.  No offense to y'all but I need a break from Harry Potter  ::ducks to avoid the tomatoes::

  • Echo - I am referring to the 8th season. I can't wait to start it!! We watched all the other seasons already and we hated having to wait for the 8th one. Seems like you get stuff on Netflix the same time we do here in the States, so that's good!!
Jodi - Your girls are soooo adorable!!!! And congrats on the passing of your tests! Can you now be one of those people who does car seat checks and teaches other how to put them in right? That's neat!
Aggie - Poor doggy! Hope his paw heals up soon!
E - Are you going some place fun on your trip? What audiobook did you get? I'm not really into the book I'm reading. I think I figured out how it's going to end already, and I don't like that.

  • It was raining SO hard here today. I literally drove my car to the other side of campus to get to my second class. Even after parking in the lot closest to the building and using my umbrella, I was still soaked when I got there. My pants from the knees down were just dripping. It was the most uncomfortable hour of class.
Everyone was complaining because our teacher didn't cancel class, but they don't realize she could actually get in trouble for doing that. Silly 18 year old freshman.

  • E: What book are you reading/listening too? Whre are you going on your trip?  I understand the Harry Potter break. I took months off between books. I felt like I ran a marthon after reading them and needed some light fluffy reading that I could get through in a day or two.

Question: My cousin got married a month ago. He just woke up one morning and decided to get married. Main reason is his girlfriend visa is up, but they have been dating a while, like 3 years. Anyhoo I was told this by my mom, who heard the information from my aunt (his mom). My aunt and uncle weren't at the wedding as it is a long drive and was so last minute. My aunt also indicated that they were going to have party in his honor with in the year, most likely next spring. So my sister, parents and I thought that we would give him a gift when they had the party and we all sent at text/email saying congrats. Were we in the wrong? Should we have sent a gift right away?

  • Haha E HP isn't meant to be read as one book. I hope you are enjoying them more than you thought you would. :-).

I make white chicken chili. It's ridiculously easy and pretty darn good.

degrea I think your gift timing makes sense.

Oh another weddiy funny. My cousin- the one who sent and std 6wks before the wedding to my parents for the whole family. Yeah they didn't send invites to the wedding party because they knew they were coming. Except no one in the WP knew the time or location of the wedding. HA!

  • degrea I think it makes sense. If they are having a party later I would bring it then too.

JLQ - we are usually very behind on the netflix front and don't have near as much selection as you guys do but it is much better than it used to be. We have different copyright laws so I think that makes it harder to get stuff up possibly? I dunno....i am almost halfway through season 8 already. But I watch on my iphone while I wash my dishes. The kids are all napping now so I'm going to make meatballs and watch some more!
  • Degrea - I would have done what you did, too.
Aggie - That is so crazy about your cousin! Who doesn't send invites to the wedding party?
Echo - I can't believe your halfway through season 8 already!! We haven't started yet. Maybe tonight!

  • I generally have 1-2 hours of nap time plus at least one episode of dishes time at night. I go through shows super fast!
  • Thanks Gals. That is what we thought as well. But my aunt is pissed that we didn't send a gift. And how we are all rude, blah, blah! So I wanted to check with my knot girls.

  • Aggie - Oooh yum, that sounds really good!  The books are okay.  I'm glad I'm listening to them rather than reading although the audiobooks are getting really long!  The last one was literally 25 hours long.  That's a lot of HP.  I don't think I'll ever re-read them but it's nice to finally get some of the references.  The narrator does a phenomenal job so that's helping things some.

jlq & degrea - no where exciting, just Ohio (no offense to our Ohioians on the board.)  I'm hitting four schools in three days so lots of driving.  The audiobook I got is Wedding Night by Sophie Kinsella.  Her books are total fluff but that's what I need at the moment.
