Nursing bras...

I plan on nursing (assuming baby and my boobs cooperate) but I'm curious how many nursing bras I should purchase. How many did you gals purchase? Also when should I purchase these? I don't want to wait til the last minute but also know many changes could happen in these last 14weeks.

  • I bought mine when I was about 8 months pregnant. I had gone up a size and didn't even really realize it. I only bought two but when I was home I used nursing tanks more. I probably would have bought more but I wasn't thinking and bought the most expensive bras at Pea in the Pod.

  • I really liked the Bravado body silk nursing bras early on. I only had one of that type to start though since I wasn't sure what I would prefer. I was doing laundry enough that 3 were sufficient. You can probably order them around 8 months since they come in S, M, L, XL. I did eventually need to size down my bras after my supply regulated and my rib age shrunk back down, but that took months. At that point you might want to consider underwire and then a couple bras for sleeping.

  • I bought a couple when I needed to go up a size about a month ago. I think I bought the wrong size for one of them, though, because I've never really liked it that much. I am realizing that I will probably need to buy some more, as I feel like they are getting too small already. But I am trying to wait until I'm at least 8 months before buying any so I'm closer to what I'll actually be when I start nursing.

  • So far, I've liked these nursing tanks from target: http://www.target.com/p/gilligan-o-malley-women-s-cotton-nursing-cami-assorted-colors-patterns/-/A-12250754#prodSlot=large_1_1&term=Nursing+tank And these nursing sleep bras, also from target: http://www.target.com/p/gilligan-o-malley-reg-women-s-2-pack-nursing-sleep-bra-assorted-colors-patterns/-/A-14055275#prodSlot=large_1_3&term=Nursing+sleep+bra I got them in a size larger than what I normally would wear, and they fit great. Once my milk came in, I was concerned that they might be too snug, but they're still comfortable. I only got two of each, and will be buying a few more soon, and will be adding so e regular nursing bras, which I'm still deciding on.

  • I'm using the same nursing tanks from target as caseyandlizzie. I'm waiting for all my milk to come in, then I'll be buying a more structured nursing bra. I've definitely gone up a size now that I'm starting to get my milk.

For mom's that ended up FF, what did you wear when your milk came in? I am assuming I could go back shortly after that to what I wore during pregnancy, but I'm not sure that what I'll want to be in at first.

  • I have large tata's and had to order my bra which took 2 months to come in.. I only got one because the other one they ordered never arrived and since it was a specialty store I gave up and just washed it ever couple days and used my nightime sports nursing bra while it washed. Not sure what I'll do this time. I lost a dramatic amount of weight after I had DS so my band size is going to be a problem that my nursing bra isn't going to fit around.. sighhhh
