Re: Book Club Monday

  • I finished City of Ashes (mortal instruments #2) last week, and almost done Frostbite (vampire academy #2).  Next is Name of the wind - Patrick Rothfuss (Kingkiller #1).  AHHH so many series!  But being furloughed has upped my reading time!  BUT these need to be done before the 22nd for ALLIGIANT!!!!!

I'm almost done listening to Heaven and Earth - Nora Roberts, then on to FaeFever (Fever #3) or Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn

I plan on starting The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater today during my lunch break.

  • Finished Revenge Wears Prada late last week.  Just started The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner yesterday.  Had read three of her books prior to starting Revenge Wears Prada.  I was looking for seomthing different, but downloaded a Kindle short story for free that ended up being a prequel to this one, so I had to start it.  Any suggestions for what to read next?  I am very much into the Chit Lit / Make you feel good / Not have to think too hard stuff these days.  I have to think too hard at work all day!  LOL!

Nora Roberts is my go-to chick-lit author.

I second Mana with Nora Roberts. I also really like Meg Cabot, Sophie Kinsella and Beth Harbison for chick lit stuff, nice and light and funny!

  • I love Sarah Dessen!! It's technically YA but I LOVE her stuff. I also am obsessed with the Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty. It's older, but I fell in love long ago and read it over and over.

I finally finished Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I love the series! I thought it was the last book in the series (Lux #4), but it definitely wasn't!! Yesterday I started The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. It's decent so far, but I'm only 8% through. I'm trying to dedicate some more time to reading!!
