QOTW-What is your favorite food to cook? What is your least favorite to cook?

I haven't fully planned my meals yet but these are the things I'm thinking about/have most of the stuff for:

- toast with peanut butter and banana

- cream of wheat with fruit

- greek yogurt with fruit

- kale and quinoa salad. You wash some kale and cut out the stalks. Add some olive oil, lemon juice and a dash of salt and set aside. Make quinoa (I prefer the red kind) it takes 5 minutes to make. Pour the hot quinoa over the kale and cover for two minutes. Mix up and enjoy.

- my favorite slow cooker meal is pulled chicken. I put a large chicken breast, a full can of salsa and some onion powder in the cooker and tun it to med all day. When I come home I shred the chicken with a fork and serve on tortilla with cheese, greek yogurt, lettuce and olives.

- We get thin crust frozen cheese pizzas. We cut up all kinds of veggies (bell pepper, mushrooms, olives, whatever we have) and cook it and eat it. If you don't add extra cheese it's really not bad for you. (don't add slices of tomatoes, it will make it moist and gooey, cherry tomatoes are fine).

- I make spaghetti and meatballs (usually I buy the frozen meatballs from Trader Joe's) Only instead of noodles I use spaghetti squash.

There's no specific order to the menu, but here are a few meals I have planned.

- H's Chili
- Pork tenderloin sliced over salad
- Rustic Herb Chicken Soup
- Likely will have penne pasta with meatballs or something.

My favorite food to cook would be my lasagna. It's time consuming, but I enjoy making it and drinking wine while cooking it.

Least favorite, not sure. I actually enjoy cooking.

-My mom is bringing us pot roast tonight because I'm sick with a migraine.

The rest of the week isn't exciting.

-My great grandmother's potato soup, it's literally 6 ingredients. Potatoes, onion, water, s&p, cream and butter. It sounds plain, but it's amazing. My grandma calls it Irish broke food. We serve it with rye bread or sour dough bread.

-Minute steaks on a roll, fries and a veggie

-Pasta with my sauce

-we're going out Friday!

Monday - leftover crockpot chicken tortilla soup

Tuesday - weekly dinner with the IL's

Wednesday - pork tenderloin w/ steamed brocolli

Thursday - leftovers

Friday - grilled chicken salads

favorite food to cook...lasagna just like brij. I love putting that much love and work into food

least favorite - I don't know! I love to cook

I didn't add my favorite and least favorite!

Favorite - I love making huge Sunday dinners. Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, homemade bread... I may do that this Sunday.

Least favorite - anything from a box. I'm a genius and I mess them up.

this makes my mouth water....I think I need to plan a meal like this for next weekend. aahhh gravy:drool.

Tonight we are doing leftovers. We have a lot to eat up.

Beef & broccoli, rice
Drunken pork chops, mashed potatoes, succotash
Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns & fruit
Fish sticks, homemade CP macaroni & cheese, zucchini pancakes
Loaded turkey chili baked potatoes
Sesame chicken w/ fried rice
Creamy tomato tortellini soup & grilled cheese

I don't really know what my favorite thing to cook is. Hmm. But if I don't like to cook it, then I don't! Lol.

I think one pot meals tend to be easy, because everything's ready all at once. I have a cookbook called the One Dish Bible. Maybe you can see if your library has it? Crock pot meals tend to be easy, too.

I sadly admit to only having tonight planned.. Spaghetti.. Once my nausea and food aversions subside DH might start cooking again, but he's tired of my turning my nose, er' stomach at everything..

I think it's cruel to make a pregnant woman laden with morning sickness plan AND cook meals. It was absolute torture the first 3 months. You have my sympathies.

I would almost agree with you.. but he was cooking and I was either running to puke it up from the smell or the texture.. And he is a awesome cook.. It's just he cooks with a lot of the same flavors and he loves meat. Both of which are not my friend right now. lol

That is why I subsisted on chicken nuggets for a while with DS. I couldn't handle being in the kitchen. Thank goodness it's different this time.

Ah, then you are lucky. Even when he cooked I would have to suggest what to cook.

We had hamburger helper and fried cabbage tonight. I think I am making crockpot tater tot casserolle tomorrow.

The rest of the week will be in whatever order...
Crockpot pineapple ham
BBQ ribs
Spaghetti
And whatever we scrap together Saturday. It might be a fend for yourself kind of night since I will be at a craft bazaar all day.
