Hi everyone! I am new to TN. Have been with my hubby for 8 years, married for almost a year and a half. I just came off the pill a month and a half ago after being on it for 11 years. I was worried it would take a while to get back to normal but AF came right on schedule (only 1 day later than if I would have still been on the pill) and now we are no longer NOT trying. Any advice or tips? I have an app on my phone that tracks everything and gives me a pretty big fertile window. My O day is tomorrow. When is the best time to have sex before O? Any old wives tales that worked for you?
Re: New to TTC
As far as advice/tips, just enjoy it in the beginning. It's an exciting time. If your cycles have gone back to "normal", try an have sex every other day (EOD) around the middle of the cycle. That should cover your bases. If you want to know more, or more precisely predict/know when you ovulate you can try ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) or temping. That will give you a better idea of what's going on. But I think you'll find that most people don't recommend starting that until after trying for at least a couple months.
Also, as far as your app goes, it can only guess when you might ovulate or when you period may be due based off of past cycle lengths. Again, if you're fairly regular, it may work just fine. But it also may not. So just know that they're certainly not exact, just guessing. If you want to know for sure, ditch the app and temp (again, probably not necessary at first).
Stick around, you'll learn a lot. Good luck!

But when you are ready to get down to business read "taking charge of your fertility". Also look into temping with a basal body thermometer. You will know for sure when your body is ovukating then. Most of us use the fertility friend app. They also have some great tutorials. :-)
Also, welcome, I hope your stay is short and sweet. Sticking around, you will learn a lot from these girls. We are all in different stages, and some have been through some tough shit. It's nice to have a community to support eachother. Give support and you will definitely receive it!

As far as coming off the pill, my first 2 cycles were practically textbook same as when I was using BC. After that, my body basically has donr whatever it wants in regard to cycle length (I was never regular before BC either though). You just have to wait and see what your body does.
Welcome, just have fun for a while, and hope your stay is short and sweet!
