Duck Dynasty Birthday Party

My creative juice is running low...long week this week, in 2 weeks, we are going on vacation...DD's 4th birthday (sheesh, where did the time go?) is in 3 weeks.  She wants a Duck Dynasty theme...

So, I'm looking to brainstorm activities for the kids.  I'm planning a duck pond, a duck pinata, "archery" with a kids bow/arrow set, make your own beard, photo station with beards on a stick, make a duck call with a straw.

Food is just going to be pizza, Sweet Tea, frog legs (chicken wings), mallow dogs and camo cupcakes.

Favors are going to be persoanlized Mason Jars

Any ideas welcome...

Re: Duck Dynasty Birthday Party

  • What about the good old dirt with worms? (Chocolate pudding,Oreos and gummy worms). The other one I would suggest is maybe some camo bandanas(oriental trading)?

How about getting a photo of the duck (downtown) and blowing it up to backdrop size. You can then have the kids pose in front of it (like, leaning in and kissing the duck on the lips).... think Leaning Tower of Pisa photos - you know, people trying to hold it / push it back up. So, have the photo be off-center to leave room for the kids. Another kid could do a "Home Alone" scared face bc the duck is peering over her shoulder. Have the kids be silly with it.

I think that could be a fun favor (polaroid pics with the duck)..

    Decorations:

Are you doing pink camoflage decorations? Mason jar centerpieces with wild flowers. Wooden crates to add height to your tables. Duck blind fabric for tablecloths?

You could do a bday sign like this:

    Food:

Big glass jug of sweet tea. Cardboard containers of "duck" food (popcorn, maybe?)

OMG, I just found these - so cute!

Maybe put quotes by the food that relate? I know Uncle Si is great with quotes, like:

“I’m what some people call, hey cultured, ok? I’m like a fine stinky cheese”.

Also, Duck Dynasty is about is family, faith, sticking together, and loving each other no matter what. I saw one party on the web had green rubber bracelets with "Faith, Family and Ducks" imprinted on them.

  • Pin the beard on the face.. Even have Miss Kay's face up on the wall!

I found one blogger's party menu:

    The Duck Dynasty Party Menu

    • Gator Tail with spicy BBQ dip (grilled chicken skewers, gator tastes remarkably like chicken)
    • Miss Kay’s Boudin Sausage Bites with BBQ dip
    • Buffalo Style Frog’s Legs (curiously similar to hot wings)
    • Bayou Baked Beans
    • Pulled Pot o’ Squirrel (pulled pork in the crock-pot)
    • Swamp Grass (coleslaw – a must with pulled pork and soft rolls)
    • Caprese Salad, Yuppie Food
    • Watermelon and blueberries, arranged into “Pretty Yuppie Food”
    • BBQ chips, tortilla chips and salsa
    • Purple grapes
    • Veggie tray with carrots, grape tomatoes and sliced cucumbers

Ha! Yeah, but to actually IMPLEMENT it...

Amanda, Gavin loves it. Granted, a lot of the stuff is over his head, but the guys are really funny and it's clean fun, you know? And it's camo, and wildlife, the woods... :)

  • Amanda, neither did I.  I've never watched it either, though, so what do I know?  Also, the activities that you listed is like 3 more than what I do for our parties, so in my world of parties, you are done!  ;)

  • Awesome!  Thanks for the ideas!  This is the first birthday party where B may actually open gifts (all of her prior ones were donations requested...we are still doing that this time if the guests were interested).
