Thank you all for your inputs.

Re: Jealous people

  • I wouldn't confront them but would keep your distance instead.  Perhaps this friendship has run its course and that is ok.
  • Your DH is his boss! No, you shouldn't confront your friend about their work issues. How would you like it if his boss's wife came to you to discuss issues with his job performance? Awkward.

  • What would be your goal in confronting them? To bring up a bunch of stuff from the past that bugged you? (If you didn't speak up then, it's WAY too late now.) Or to try to mend the relationship? (In which case, inviting them over and having a nice evening would probably be a better approach.) It sounds like this friendship might be fizzling out, and it doesn't sound like you really enjoyed their company much anyway. It's probably awkward for them to go hang out with the boss and his wife, so I'd give them their distance and let them approach you if they want the friendship to be rekindled. Confronting them will probably just make it worse, and make your DH's work relationship with this guy reeeaaally awkward.
  • I have no idea why you're friends with them in the first place.  Back off your friendship and let your H and her H work out their work issues on their own.

  • No confrontation necessary.  Just slowly FAAAAAAAAAAAADE into the background.  This relationship will soon be a distant memory.
