Another Kindle Story (with a happy ending)
So
@nocturnalintimacy's post reminded me I've been to tell you guys about my recent kindle adventures....
I had my kindle at the barn where I ride...after I ride I let my horse eat some grass while I read for a bit. Anyways I was leaving the barn and as always made sure to take everything (especially my kindle!) with me. Fast forward 4 days later after I've torn my house/car apart multiple times and I cannot find the kindle. I figured I must have left it at the barn so I called the barn manager. No luck....my Mom even stopped out (the barn is 1.5 hours away from me...only 20 min from my parents) and double checked all my bags out there to make sure I didn't accidentally pack it up...no luck.
I counted it for gone (and began praying for a paperwhite for Christmas). Lo and behold last Wednesday I get a call from my Mom...here's what happened....I apparently *did* take the kindle out of the barn and let it on the roof of my car!!! It fell off on the side of the road when some overly nice strangers stopped and picked it up (apparently the bright pink case was helpful). Well they took it home and began trying to locate me. They ran an ad in the local paper, with no luck. They called amazon and amazon wouldn't give them any contact info (which makes me mad....I'm glad they didn't give my contact info away but amazon could have contacted me!!! ugh anyways....). Finally she googled my maiden name (which is what my kindle was registered to) and *somehow* came up with my parents home phone number. She called them and needless to say I got my kindle back safe and sound this weekend. The case was barely damaged and the kindle is in perfect working order!
Thought you might like a happy story
