Canadians come in.

I was just curious what your opinion on our government shut down is? Are your news stations covering it? What are they saying?
@BeeLu, you're from another country, aren't you? What is your opinion?

Re: Canadians come in.

  • I don't really understand what is going on so I'm not going to make an uneducated comment either way. I don't often watch the news so I feel like it's being covered but I don't know to what extent.

  • I don't know much about it, but DH is interested in it. He is actually the one who wanted me to ask that here. :-)
  • Things aren't really being covered on the news here. The only reason we know what's going on is through family and because, it affects us as a border city. For example, we can't ship things we sell on ebay because we can't do customs docs. At my DHs work, they can't import foods from the US. It's really messing things up for him.
Congrats to my TTC buddy Madeline! Cheering for all the strong 3T ladies!

  • I'm an American in the UK. It's strange because I follow the shutdown a bit, because I keep up on US news, but it's far enough removed that I don't think about it as much as I would if I were in the US still. A lot of the Brits I work with ask me what's going on, so they're definitely interested. It's had some far-reaching implications though- we're having some issues at the museum with loans from US museums, since the government funded ones are shut down. I just hope it's resolved soon, I find it infuriating that our legislators are acting like infants.

  • Thanks for your opinion... I wasn't 100% what your story was, but I was pretty sure you weren't in the US at least :-)
  • I'm late to the game here.  It's covered on the news here and maybe I just pay more attention because of my job/interests.  My opinion: it's absolutely ridiculous and not something that could ever happen here.
