How long did you have to "wait" for DH to propose to you?

We were yound when we started dating, I was 15 and he was 16 we were together 4 years when he proposed and when he did we knew we wanted a long engagement. We got married 4 years later and on Oct 17th we will have our 9 year anniversary together followed by our wedding anniversary on the 20th

Not long at all. We started dating right before Thanksgiving and we got engaged in late May the following year. We had a 17 month engagement so that people didn't think we were pregnant or rushing into it.

Not long... About a year and a half. I was in shock he proposed as soon as he did. We were only engaged for 8 months after that. I think the older you are, the easier it is to know when it's right.

Almost 2 years. We moved into our house at about 1 1/2 years and he proposed 3 months later. Our wedding was 8 months after that.

4 years before the proposal came....longer than I wanted! Ha I told him I wasn't in it for this 5 year relationship like so many of his CA friends did in our first year. I totally forgot about it until my MOH brought up how our wedding day was 2 days short of 5 years! Haha it's ok though because our relationship is really strong. We went through H getting laid off for a year and a half, living together for 3 years and other milestones on the wrong order!

We were together for almost 5 years before we got engaged. He'd had an engagement ring for 3, though!! It wasn't the one he proposed with, but the one he did propose with he'd had for 2 years. I knew about both of them from the get-go!! I was like come on, man!!! We were engaged for 13 months exactly (9-13-11, married 10-13-12...I feel like 13 was lucky for us! haha)

We had only been dating 10 months. But were really young (19 and 20) and knew we were waiting until I graduated from college so our engagement was over 4 years!

H proposed to me way sooner than I expected him to. We met online and talked for a little while, but our first actual face to face date was on 6/13/10. We moved in together a little before our 1-year anniversary, just because that's when our respective leases happened to be up. We started talking marriage at that point, but decided there was no hurry. Well, apparently H decided that later meant sooner, and only made me think he planned on waiting as part of what turned out to be a pretty large conspiracy to ensure that his proposal would be a total surprise. He asked for my parents' blessing about a month and a half after we moved in together, which was supposed to be a secret, but my mom dropped the ball and wrote the meeting on her calendar, which I immediately saw when I went to visit her. Oops. Still, I had no way of knowing when he was actually going to pop the question. He ended up proposing on 10/1/11, our engagement lasted almost exactly one year, and we married on 10/6/12!

We first met 5 years ago and were best friends immediately, but didn't start dating for another 2 years. (I had a long-term bf at the time.) He "jokingly" proposed when we first started dating (sitting on the couch, watching tv lol) and then when we passed the bar and got jobs he proposed 2 years later. He always says that if he had the money he would've done it much sooner. We were engaged for 10 months.
