moms/new moms

did you use or did you consider using a belly wrap after birth?  http://www.babooshbaby.com/b/2336278011

I wonder if they work??

I remember seeing an infomercial about the Brooke Burke one years ago and thinking to myself, file that info for later!

Re: moms/new moms

  • Well, I did but I had a c-section. It definitely helped with the healing and just helping put everything back in it's place. I would imagine this would be the same for a belly wrap even if you had a vaginal birth.

  • Did not use or consider.  Stomach is flabby though, so might not be the best one to ask.

  • I did  not use one this time, but I will next time.  My abs split and are still split, and I'm thinking one of those may have helped the healing process go faster.

  • I was given one in the hospital after my surgery. I plan to try to use it after birth - whether it's vaginal or c-section.

  • I didn't use one or consider it. To me my stomach seems like it went back to normal just fine without it.

  • I didn't and I didn't even really consider it. I think a lot of what happens afterwards is just how different women's bodies react/respond and many if those women might have bounced back anyway. I do see the health benefits to it though.

My belly was pretty much where I was comfortable with it about 9 mo PP but I got lap surgery 11 mo PP and the stuff I had to do prior made me bloat out to as big as I was at like 25 weeks and then they blew me up with gas during the surgery. All my stretched skin just went back to how it was a few weeks PP. I am 8 mo out from that surgery and my tummy is close to what it was beforethe surgery.

  • I considered but never went as far as purchasing one. This time, I'm thinking I just might get one though. I've heard they really help.

    Lesson learned!!

  • I did and found it helped immensely. I still had extra pounds on my stomach but my stomach was flat as soon as my ute returned to normal size. I also found it to help support my low back in the early weeks of nursing and week muscles. I only wore it at home and during the day, not 24hrs like they recommend. I will be doing it again the next timw and found it worth every penny.
