18 mo old went a little on the potty last night
I totally forgot about this until I read something a bit ago about this gal who got teary telling some toddlers how good they did.. Last night DS at bath time was standing by the potty and said pee pee. So when I undressed him I thought what the heck and sat him on the big potty. He was pushing and pushing and passing gas he was pushing so hard and it was kinda funny. And then a tiny bit of pee came.. and when I pulled him off the potty there was the smallest little poop in the toilet too. all I could tell him was how good he did and what a good boy for going in the potty.
We will not have a nightly ritual before he gets in the bath to sit on the potty. Even though I know he is in no way ready to potty train. lol
Edit: for typo

I had the 2-2 1/2 year olds in daycare and had to potty train them before they could move up to the next class. Not every kid is ready that early so it was tough but a lot of the kids did really well. I am trying to use the same techniques I used there.

We are doing the same thing with DS. Before bath, after bath, anytime he is obviously going to poop, and several times during the day. He loves flushing the toilet, but has only actually done anything in it a handful of times. We figure we aren't going to push it, but as long as its fun and he's interested, we'll encourage him.
We use cloth dipes, so I would just love him to poop in the potty, cause I can deal with pee diapers. Our goal is to have him daytime trained by next summer when he's 2 1/2.
