Dreams

I've been told that dreams while you're pregnant will feel so real. This one did for me.

I went into labor, like this early into labor. I couldn't find anyone, no one was around, no one was answering my calls. I get myself to the hospital and within 3 hours of going into labor at home, I gave birth. I immediately pass out, don't wake up for 3 days. They release me from the hospital then, the baby is perfectly healthy, but still NO ONE is there. Last I remember I was at the store trying to figure out what to buy because I had nothing.

I told my friend about the dream and she says it will repeat itself because it's my biggest fear. Please tell me that's not true!

Re: Dreams

  • That sounds very scary. I had some crazy scary dreams while pregnant but none of then repeated. I wouldn't necessarily say they were my worst fears but little bits of info that got stuck in my subconscious.

I had one where I had five babies and we were at a community event and people were passing the babies around and I couldn't keep track of them. I didn't even know how many were boys or girls. The feelings in it were so real. The gut wrenching feeling of not being able to find your child. Ugh.

I also had one where the baby was crying inside me and there was nothing I could do to help it. Like crying and crying but there was nothing I could do. It was awful.

Anyway, it is totally normal and I am sorry you had a nightmare. The feelings are so real and so scary.

  • I have just been having really odd and random dreams!  Like last night I dreamed I was at this lady's house that I work for.  And she wanted me to help her find the chain for her ceiling fan.  We couldn't find it and were looking everywhere.  So she said she would look under the bed and then there was someone she knew who was laying under her bed reading and was like "oh hey!"  So weird!

  • I have had some pretty terrifying, recurring dreams since getting pregnant. Some of it is anxiety related and some of it is pregnancy related. It's so bad now that I am almost afraid to sleep at night.

Oh I bet, my friend kept having one that she couldn't make it to the hospital and had her baby on her foot doctor's waiting room floor.

Eta: Podiatrist! I couldn't remember the name for that type of doctor...

  • I've had weird dreams. They were worse with DS. I kept seeing my mom who died a few years ago and she kept telling me it was alright, but she was all hooked up to all the machines with nasty drool like a scary movie coming out. I had that one a couple times.

This time I'm just having random vivid dreams. Most recent DH cheated on me with some girl named Yvonne and I kept telling her if she knew he was married and was expecting a child why she would do such a thing. All she could tell me was a woman's got needs too. Apparently I'm afraid DH is going to cut me off of ST soon (like he did with DS) and he's gonna get is somewhere else. Which since he is always home after work and on weekends or we are together I know it's just a fear and not going to happen. The mind can play dirty tricks that's for sure!

Speak sweetly so that if you ever have to eat your words, they don't taste bad.

    Lesson learned!!

  • I had a ton of sex dreams in the beginning. Mostly with DH so that's good ;)

I've never had recurring dreams so idk if that's pregnancy related or just an old wives tale. They have felt more vivid and real though even if they're just nonsense dreams.

I have super vivid dreams. The other day I watched zero dark 30 right before I went to bed and I dreamed DH and I walked in on terrorists planning an attack accidentally. Long story short I ended with my pregnant belly stuck in an air vent while trying to escape out of a bathroom. Yikes! None of them have been reoccurring.

  • I have had super vivid recurring dreams all my life. Lately I keep having terrifying dreams where bad things happen to dh or he leaves me and takes my baby and my dog and disappears. My bad dreams have always been terrifying and I usually woke up crying. I also have vivid good dreams too though. I had a dream when I was 15 before I met dh that I had a daughter that was so beautiful and I had that dream multiple times so that I memorized her face. Now I can tell you that she had dhs features and know with certainty that she was a promise to me. I've had the dream 2x since becoming pregnant. So not all are bad.
