If you reach your goal, do you bump it up or just leave it?
Re: GR Yearly Goals
It depends on when in the year it is. My original goal was 40 this year and I met that in August so I bumped it up to 52. I am at 48 right now so I will likely meet my goal this month or next and I won't bump up my goal again this year.
BFP 1/8/11 - U/S 2/24/11 (11wks) no heartbeat measuring 6w1d - D&C 2/28/11
It depends on by how much usually. I upped my goal last year because I was about 6 books ahead but if I'm only like 2 books ahead, I don't. I like that feeling of accomplishing something.
This is what I think I am going to do. When I bump it from 75 to 85, I am still 12 books ahead of schedule, so I should be fine.
It is kind of nice to just read and not worry about a goal though. Not that I worry about it that much or let it really effect my book selection throughout the year. Maybe during the last month, but other than that I try not to worry about it.
I think for me it would depend on when I met the goal. I've only set goals twice (last year and this year). Last year my goal was 50, but I hit that in late September or Early October. So I went ahead and set the goal of 70. When I hit 70 I didn't change it, because I hit 70 in December.
This year I am 10 ahead in my goal of 100, and will probably hit my goal sometime in November. I probably will not increase my goal this year. However I will set my goal for next year higher than whatever I reach this year.
I'm going to keep going, see how far I do end up, and use that as a benchmark for next year's goal.
