How do you deal with people wanting to touch your belly?

Because this gets to me. People at church keep starring at me and trying to come up to me and touch my belly.

We are visiting my ILs this weekend for the first time since getting pregnant and I can guarantee that at least my MIL and SIL will try and touch/rub/kiss my belly. Umm, no thank you. Help?

I just tell them not to touch me.... but then the majority of my friends and family know that I don't like to be touched much at all.

I actually said to my MIL "You didn't put it there, don't touch it." She got the message pretty quickly.

I wish I had some advice, I'm sure one of these ladies will think of something clever to say. But you're right, it is a little uncomfortable. Just because your pregnant doesn't serve people a right to get in your personal space, and they really should ask if they can touch you.

For my family or friends to touch it, i didn't mind as long as they asked. But if that bothers you, you're probably just going to have to speak up.

I did have a complete stranger come up to me while I was eating in a restaurant towards then end of my pregnancy with DD and start rubbing my belly. i kind of was in shock and just froze because it was just so bazaar. I always wished I had the nerve to touch and start rubbing their belly back. I would hope that would give them the hint.

I never had anyone try to touch my belly besides my mom and MIL. I just can't imagine people, strangers who think it's okay to randomly touch other people especially bellys. I did have tons of people guess what I was having. sorry I am not of more help.

I ended up talking to my Mom about t and she's been backing off and telling family to ask first.

My ILs will be another story. I might try putting my hand there if they come at me. Otherwise I'll have to say something.

I usually only get one girl that tries to touch my belly from work. It's awkward, but she is a little lovable gal so I kind of ignore it. But anyone else.. oh heck no.. step back people.. this is my space, that is yours..

I take a step back and just say "I'm not feeling well" and give them a scared/dirty look. Later when they ask me how I'm doing I say "great". Then repeat process until they get the hint.

I made it quite Lear I did not want touched. W's aunt was the only one who didn't get it but she's a dumbass anyways. Well and his uncle was joking and said we we rerunning bellies (he had a decent beer belly on him) when I went to give him a hug goodbye. This time if the aunt starts touching me I will be more firm. And now I have R to put in the way too.

Maybe I'm standoffish too. I think my mom is the only one who has touched my belly so far. And I didn't really like that. A coworker told me she always wants to rub my belly b/c she thinks it's cute; I just laughed and didn't invite her to do so.

I hope I can make myself be like @alexisanna44 and touch back if necessary.

Dhs grandfather rubbed my belly at like 4 weeks. I lauvhed and told him he was rubbing my sub I just ate. It doesnt really bother me tho...maybe I'm weird? I was proud to finally have a bumps with j&z. I certainly dont want strangers rubbing all up on me, but family is whatever.

I agree with PPs tho, I think you'll have to speak up if it bothers you.

I didn't mind family or friends touching my belly once it was obvious. I didn't like belly kisses (only my mom was guilty of that) or belly rubs before I was showing (cuz it was just my chub they were rubbing). I never had an issue w/ random people wanting to touch me. Just be clear with people that they are not to touch you. Nothing wrong with setting boundaries!
