Starting to get really overwhelmed.
I spent an hour or so going through all of the lists and things we need or are recommended for baby - and am so overwhelmed! I don't know where to start, and part of me doesn't want to start until I feel baby kick or move. Aside from what we actually DO need, though, there are just so many options for everything, and I just don't know where to get a foothold, so to speak. How/where did you all get started figuring everything out, other than reading online?

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

I looked at the Baby Bargains book for about 10 mins... IMO it just scared me with a lot of things and was very overwhelming to look at.

Thankfully you don't really NEED all that much to take care of a newborn and you can always run out and buy anything you don't have (or order it online more likely!)
Early on the Rock N Play, wrap carrier (I had a Boba Wrap which I personally loved), white noise machine, sleep n plays, diapers, burp clothes, swaddle blankets, bottles, pacifiers and breast feeding supplies were key. I also preferred an infant car seat early on and since it was winter I used a car seat cover that goes over the top like a shower cap. You might want to have some baby shampoo/wash on hand and a baby bath of some type.
IMO buy a couple bottles and a couple pacifiers until you know which your baby will prefer.
To make you feel my love.
I think a bouncy seat, a pack n play, and a wrap carrier are invaluable in the beginning but the rest you can buy after baby is here if need be. Don't get overwhelmed, just go item by item.
FWIW, We didn't get a travel system because we wanted a jogging stroller and bought a snap and go stroller - so those are things worth considering. My advice is keep the receipts
