First, thanks everyone for asking about me yesterday, it made me smile to see it today!
Next, my scanner is not working so I was not able to add the picture.
And last, my ultrasound was not fun at all. When they first take me back they tell my mom to wait, they're going to measure then they will bring her back. I had a student, which I didn't mind at all. They did an ultrasound on my skin (I can't think of the name) first. All the pressure she put on me was horrible, I had to pee! She looked for a while then said she needed to ask the tech a question. She goes and gets the tech. The tech watches the student for a few minutes then tells her to let her try. By this point, I'm wondering what the heck, look at the clock and realize it's already been half an hour. The tech ask if my last period really was August 10th and I told her yes, I'd been keeping track of them, why what is going on? She said nothing was wrong, the baby doesn't measure that far along. She wants to try a trans vaginal to see if they can get a heartbeat, then they'll let my mom in.
Another half an hour later (so my mom was in the waiting room an hour), they finally let my mom in. Although they could see the heartbeat, they couldn't get a measure on it because the heartbeat was so small. According to the tech, between baby and sack, I measured 6 weeks 1 day yesterday.
According to the tech, they will probably order another ultrasound in 2 weeks so they can get actual measurements. Sadly, since it was a Friday I will have no answers till Monday. Obviously I didn't ovulate when they thought I did which I know isn't un-normal, but they seemed surprised by it. What I really don't understand is, that means the day I got my BFP, I was 1 week along! I've never heard of anyone getting a positive from home that quickly.
We'll see what happens Monday.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
Anyways, the first tech at the MFM could not grasp the concept that my LMP had no affect on babies' measurements since I had an IUI (thus we knew exact date of conception.) I had to explain it to her, she had to go get the doctor. Thank goodness I never saw her again!
A heartbeat is great - as long as you saw it - all is good!
Babies can measure behind at first. They can be slow growers, dates can be off etc.
I never gave them my LMP. It would have put me two weeks further than I was. I knew when I ovulated and always gave my EDD instead or made
up an LMP that worked (at the suggestion of my midwife) since most are calculated by a 28 cycle and CD14 O... Neither of which is true for me.

I have a follow up u/s on Tuesday because the tech who did my anatomy scan last month was too dumb to know she needed pics of the baby's face and profile. I got a cd of pictures of organs. Awesome. I feel your pain of incompetent techs.
Oh, and I also only tell the office when I O'd. I'm lucky to have only dealt with people who accepted that I knew what I was talking about and didn't demand my LMP.
I'm sorry it didn't go as planned. I hope it works itself out!

well that U/S tech sounds like they didn't know what they were doing! of course you needed a transvaginal U/S.
I am very happy for you that they were able to see the heartbeat though!! its so excited, right?!!
