I'm throwing a baby shower for my sister. She doesn't want it to be "burdensome" cost-wise. Other than hosting it at my parents' home (which is where her bridal shower was), are there any other inexpensive venues I should consider? My sister lives in Fairmount. My parents and her in-laws live out in the burbs, in Marple. So the shower could be either in Fairmount or further out west, or somewhere in between.
Thanks!
Re: Shower Location recs?
Thanks!
Would the art museum or somewhere like that have a room that could be rented? I am thinking it may have to be a non-restaurant location.
I just went to a bridal shower at the Marple Presbyterian Church, right off of 476/Rt 3. The party was held in their Upper Room, which seats 50. It was adorable. Lots of wood and a fireplace - it was very cute in a rustic kind of way. The decorations they used (burlap, fall colors, candles) really tied in with the place. There is a full kitchen, and you can bring your own food or have it catered. The party I went to used Justine, who is their preferred caterer. I don't believe she was overly pricey, and everyone really seemed to enjoy her food. They have larger rooms as well, and can accomodate up to 150+ people.
There is a Knights of Columbus on Rt. 252 (just north of Rt. 3), near Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square: http://www.materdeihall.com
