Morning!!!
It's a short week for me since yesterday was thanksgiving. Our weekend was good but busy. The drive home was long and painful and I told my family I might not make it again this pregnancy but we shall see.
Yesterday we did brunch with dh's family. Sil and bil told us they're expecting their first!! They're due the day before my sister is due in May! Plus my other sister and other sil all would like to be pregnant and have kids next year so it might be quite the year for my family!! Insane. As it is the past few years have been baby busy!!
Re: I love short weeks!
Not too much going on here today. I am going out to lunch with H again since neither of us went shopping last night. My cold is getting better. I am still tired at night but not as bad as it was.
Echo: Glad you had a great thanksgiving Echo! That would be a lot of babies.
Sorry your cold is still hanging in there, degrea. Mine is, as well.
I did a time course experiment last week. I'm adding something to cells and then trying to determine the best time to look for optimal effect. I looked at 6hrs, 10hrs, 24hrs, and 48hrs.
10hrs looks the best. Of course. So, in the future, when I do this experiment over and over again, those days will be 12 hour days because 10hrs is too short to set up for overnight and slightly too long for a work day. Of course.
Boo to 12 hours joy!! I could never do 12 hour shifts of anything. Dh used to do them and I always said it would never be possible for me.
That is my day off as of yet. I have more to do buuut I don't wanna.
Echo! Enjoy your short week :-) and that is a lot of babies! I am kind of envious. Our kids are highly unlikely to have any cousins near their age- kind of like me and I am bummed by that.
Degrea I hope the cold goes away soon
joy! Of course it would work that way bummer! Mayne you could convince someo that because of this you should do 4 day weeks? Because that would be over 40hrs and make it a wee bit better.
Joy: Yuck! How long will this last? But Murphy's law would state that it would work out that way. And I second Aggie's ide of 4 day weeks.
Does any one know if there is a way to see what is available on Netflix before signing up? I tried searching the website yesterday but everything was sign in first/ first month free. I don't want to sign in or sign up I want to see what you have to offer first!
Degrea - feel better! And I have no idea about netflix, sorry.
Echo - babies galore, oh my! And I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving
Joy - I second that you should be able to turn that into a four day work week. I couldn't imagine a flex schedule like that. I need my predictable 8:30-5, thank you.
Aggie - go for a run! That way we can be tied because I haven't done anything since my run on Sunday.
my read shelf:
I did finally get this lazy butt in gear and get a run in today. High fives for only being half lazy now :-).
But I actually have a question for you. Do you have any recommendations for an light fun audiobook? I have never listens to an audio book, my job and commute don't lend itself to it buuuut I think maybe I could listen to it while a run. And if the book is good it would be motivation to run! See what I am doing there? So no crying please (or possible crying since I am a bigger crybaby than most)
Where in FL will you be going? Weren't you just in Miami?
Congrats on going for a run! A few of the ones I was going to recommend, you've already read (Ready Player One, etc.) but I have enjoyed the following (all given 4*s by me for the audiobook version):
The Sea Breeze series by Abbi Glines (total fluff and brainless), The Book of Broken Hearts by Sarah Ockler (really good book but a character has dementia so that might be sad depending on your personal experience), Return to Me by Justina Chen, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, Lies that Chelsea Handler Told Me, Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe, Official Book Club Selection by Kathy Griffin, Seriously I'm Kidding by Ellen DeGeneres.
my read shelf:
And I knew I could count on you. Thanks for the recommendations I will have to ponder my selection.
Yesterday, I was here 7:45am to 8pm. You go until you're done or you're too hungry to continue. My husband's job is actually the exact same way.
I never think this mindset is weird until I talk to other people. I'm learning more and more that he and I are the oddballs and we can't live and breathe work forever.
Clearly, I have work-life balance issues :-)
