WIJFR: Carrie *SP*
I finished this book last night and I'm still thinking about it today. Granted, I saw the Sissy Spacek version of the movie about 10 years ago so I knew roughly what happened but it's nothing compared to the book (like most movies vs. books). It's amazing to me how Stephen King can make these characters that you understand and feel like you know in under 300 pages. I think that's what makes him one of the best writers around.
I loved the interspersed of the interviews, documents, news articles, etc. throughout the book. I think it definitely added more depth and made it go a lot faster.
At the end when Sue finds Carrie on the ground in town and they are "talking" to each other, I honestly almost cried. I feel like in that moment, specifically the part where Sue talks about how Carrie did so much but couldn't turn herself over to see the stars, it's one of the saddest and most poignant parts of the story. I'm planning on seeing the remake coming out still but this book is still so good so I feel like I should wait a bit to separate the two.
