TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermWe were dealing with low morph only originally as well. But our RE felt that DH had a good enough count to still try IUI first. Unfortunately his count got worse each time. That led us to just moving on to IVF.
It's definitely worth an appointment with a urologist that specializes in fertility to see if there is something that can be "fixed" before moving on to anything your not financially or emotionally ready for yet.
GL with your HSG.

I'm so sorry you received crappy news.
((HUGS))
We should be getting our SA results very soon. I'm really nervous, especially since DH has been in such a depressed mood lately anyways. I'm afraid that if we get bad news he just won't be able to handle it.

My TTC Journey Blog
It takes about 6 months to determine if it help his sperm or not. We are currently in that waiting period.
If the surgery does help, we should be able to get pregnant naturally barring anything else unforeseen. If it does not, then he said the issue is that morph affects the shape of the sperm. That makes it harder for the sperm to penetrate the egg. Therefore IUI and IVF would not give us any better chances of conceiving. We would need to do IVF w/ ICSI, which is where they inject the sperm into the egg.
I'm really crossing everything that this surgery helped DH, but won't know anything until the start of the year. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

I definetly suggest you go to a urologist to make sure he doesn't have a vericocele or something.
Overall his #'s look good though, so don't get too down about it!
and I agree with the other girls, be prepared for the IUI talk.
