Induction plans
in GP Moms
Had my 38 week check up today. Third cervical check and zero dilation or progress at all. He says, "it seems slightly soft..." every week but I think he's just being polite. Lol
Due date is the 30th and if baby doesn't come on his own we will go in for cervadil late Nov. 2nd and start pitocin Sunday morning Nov. 3rd.
He really hopes I dilate at least a little between now and then because he is worried about giving pitocin with zero natural progress. I bought an exercise ball today to bounce on to hopefully get some dilation going.
I don't mind waiting that long for baby to come, I'm just scared of having a harder labor with no dilation to start with. That was my doctors concern as well.
Any dilation vibes you got layin' around, mind if I take them?

And I also scheduled an induction 1 week after my due date with my first because I had made absolutely no progress at my 40 week appt, but the day after I scheduled it I went into labor on my own. Got to the hospital at 4 cm dilated and progressed to 10 in an hour and a half. Just because you haven't made any progress yet, doesn't mean you won't in the next few weeks and/or quickly overnight.

FYI - my friend went to her 38 week appt and was told no dilation, no effacement, and she hadn't even had one BH. 11pm that night, her water broke and by the time they got to the hospital she was 4cm, 70% effaced, and contractions were 2 minutes apart. FX you don't need the induction!

I agree that it can all change over night. I hadn't had one BH my entire pregnancy and at my 40w appointment I wasn't dilated at all, the next day I was at 2cm dilated and within hours I was 6cm dilated.
I hope LO decides to come on his own and that he picks his own birthday.
