2ww vent

Why is it that no matter how little of a chance I think I have this cycle that I am allowing myself to get my hopes up? I am sitting here analyzing my possible O days and trying to convince myself to wait until Saturday morning to test (AF should be here by then).

I am also sitting here making lists of what I would need to buy for baby and thinking about how we would announce to family and friends. Am I totally crazy?! I know there's only a slim chance that I could be KTFU and that's only if I ovulated on CD 30 or 31.

Sorry. I feel like I am being a PW lately. I just needed to vent to those who would understand!

  • By the way, I did make a long list of everything I can focus on instead of TTC. I'll start working on that list ASAP! Maybe that will keep me sane.

  • The 2ww sucks no matter what. I have no advice other than try to stay super busy. The one thing I've really found with IF is that it makes you grow your patience by leaps and bounds, so that is the only silver lining. Hang in there!!

  • I hear you! I've been thinking about how I'm going to explain to my sister and BIL that I'm not drinking if I find out I'm pregnant while we are on vacation. Ugh! I've also been looking at cute baby thing online.

  • Honestly no matter how many TWW you sit through they all feel the same! You are definitely not alone in this boat. I did find that not temping during the TWW helps a lot. That way you can't compare temps etc. Start a new book maybe... that usually distracts me from the internet.

  • I always felt that way during the 2ww.  They suck no matter what!  It's good that you made a list of other stuff you can focus on.  I did that too and it really helped me.

  • Girl, talk that BFP into existence. Talk as though it has already happened. Make plans for the baby you know you will have one day. God will bless you with everything you deserve!!!! And with the 2ww, you know you are still in the window to get a negative even though you may be getting a BFP soon!! I was 6 weeks pregnant before I got a BFP with my daughter.

There's nothing wrong with positive thinking. It happens all the time on this board. My RE actually gives out pamphlets on the power of positive thinking after IVF. They're not doing that to say it'll make me pregnant, just trying to help manage the 2ww.

I think you're coming from a good place, but saying she'll get a baby 'cause she "deserves it" is kinda hurtful to those who are unable to have children. They don't deserve it, too?

I agree I think she was just trying to be positive. it certainly can't hurt!
  • Yes positive thinking is not my strong suit. To me, I would rather be negative and then have something good happen than be positive and get disappointed. That's just me though. I have tried to be more positive but lately it has been a struggle.

  • I'm sorry if what I said came across that way. I know that no matter how positive you think, etc, sometimes it just doesn't happen. I also didn't mean it to sound that some people don't deserve a baby or anything like that. I'm sorry!

  • meh, i feel that way EVERY tww. EVERY SINGLE ONE. No matter how much I tell myself there's no way, the little fire starts about 2dpo. ALWAYS.  With our recent diagnosis I'm kinda pissed at how much money i've wasted on HPT's. like A LOT. seriously.  lately though, everytime i wanted to test I'd try to go out for a walk. didn't always work, but i figured i was killing two birds with one stone. (out of the house so you cant test, and exercising). GL girl

sorry about all the caps, lol

It's ok, everyone makes mistakes like that. I know it came from good intentions.

I said something similar to another girl here once, and I still feel bad about it (but that's me!). She knew I didn't mean it, but it's a good reminder to be careful choosing words.

My rule with HPT's is I ONLY test with FMU as long as I haven't woken up in the middle of the night to pee.

I'd NEVER get to test then!! I get up at least once a night to pee.
