Facebook pet peeves

Every day I see and read things where I just want to shake people. Like people with major spelling issues, or how they talk/type on it- ex. "i went to da club wit dis girl." Or people who always complain about their life. Ugh!

The thing that annoys me the most is when people 'share' things that aren't true. It is like, look it up to get the facts, Jack, before you share it!!

Also, I know it is a way to get the word out there faster, but people tend to over share missing kids. It is awesome if the kid is still missing, yes, but you should look it up before you share because ya know what? There is a good chance the kid has been found already by the time it got to you.

End rant.

hmmm....double posted for some reason so I´m erasing the 2nd one lol

  • My one big pet peeve about FB is people who post stuff that is way too personal to be posting on a public forum like FB. It's almost as if the filter button is completely turned off. People have no shame anymore....smh

Yeah... I just unfriended a fb friend who has been posting close-ups of her eye because she is having an iritis flare-up. uh, wtf made you think we wanted to see that?

Oh, that's just gross. I have one person that is constantly posting about all the drama with her XH and all the child support he owes, dealing with the courts and all this other nonsense that really should not be posted in a public forum like that. I mean, okay, we are all sitting here on this message board posting personal stuff too but it's a bit different here because it's more anonymous vs fb where chances are, you know the people and have to see them irl. I feel bad for her situation and all because it is shitty, but fb is not the place to be airing your laundry like that. And my own family isn't much better either. My grandfather passed away in February and there was all sorts of drama surrounding that, and my aunt decided to air all that stuff on fb. I just remember opening it up the day after the funeral and seeing in my newsfeed all of the stuff and couldn't believe it. It's almost as if we've forgotten how to keep private things private anymore.
  • Or what about the people who update things about their kids that nobody wants to know... like the first time they poop on the toilet??? Complete with the picture!! Ummmmm nobody wants to see that!!!!

  • People who put every single detail of their life on there. Also, people who think they are experts on things that the know nothing about! This especially when they post about mental health issues. Get the facts people and lets not stigmatize or shame others!

  • I'm having a lot of problems with FB right now, so I've decided to take a break from it until the end of the month (at least). I don't like all the political posts/misinformation, the "if you don't share this you don't love Jesus" posts, one girl's posts about her pregnancy cravings/symptoms (jealousy issue), people who bombard the site with pics of their kids (jealousy, again), posts about people having whatever bug is going around (it skyrockets my anxiety because I then become afraid of catching whatever it is). After looking back at this list, I don't see why I'm on FB. Maybe I'm the one with issues and not the site. lol
  • I just think facebook has turned into people just advertising every single moment of their lives.  It all is so annoying. Lol  O, and when a woman professes her love to her guy all over it. I mean, text the guy, some things should be between just 2 people, not the entire world. I don't care what you are eating, I don't care that your baby just pooped on the toilet.  I just don't care.  I take breaks from FB because of all of it.  What happened to privacy?  Just way way too much TMI all over the internet :)  Happy huuuuump Dayyyyyy

  • Does anybody else have that friend from high school that is always selling something?  Origami Owl one week, slimming body wraps the next?  So goddamn annoying.  I don't want to buy your sex toys.  No.

I also hate the "I really need your prayers right now- I can't tell you why, but I need help from lordbabyjesus". Vaguebooking.

Oh my god, YES to all of this!! It's ridiculous! I've got people inviting me to 31 parties, posting about Jamberry nails, posting about the body wrap crap, and wanting to tell me all about Herbalife. I don't want my news feed to be a list of freakin' infomercials, thankyouverymuch!

And the vaguebooking annoys me more than anything else. Don't post one-word statuses about being miserable or sad or bored or whatever. You're fishing for attention, that's all. You really need something, send me a text or call me!

OMG seriously!  Ya what ever happened to people calling or texting a friend for help, not advertising it all over FB!  LOL  If it were really that bad, I really don't think you would be telling the whole world about it.  Oh, also, posting pics while in the middle of cool stuff.  I mean, if it were that cool would you take the time to stop doin it just to post it all over FB.  I was on vacay and I got a few texts from people telling  me to post stuff.  I said, I don't get on FB while on vacay. I like to enjoy life away from all of that.   :) I am sooo over it.

Yes!! Hashtags make me want to punch babies. If someone uses one VALID hashtag, I still hate it but it's not as bad bc it serves a purpose. But the made up ones that serve NO purpose like #mykideatscheerioswhilepoopingonthepottybecausehesawesome make me crazy.

These people make me mad. I sell Tastefully Simple, and have for over 4 years. You can create a separate "consultant" page for people to like.  Then post all of your crap there. So if people want to see it, then they can like your page. If they get fed up that you post 5 things about your business every single day, then they can unlike your page.  It really does give direct sales people a bad rep, and rightfully so.

My biggest peeve of Facebook is when parents post things like "The kid kept us up all night, and we got the bill from the OB this morning. - Broke & Tired"
#1. Your KID has a name. You chose it. You wrote it on the birth certificate. Use it.
#2. You chose to make a baby, that means an OB bill 9 months later.
#3. You had 9 months to prepare for said OB bill.
#4. Oh, you just checked into Olive Garden for dinner. Oh well congrats on being "broke." I don't want to hear it.

OMG THIS!!! I cannot stand when people call their baby by "the boy" or "the kid." It makes said child sound like such a burden or a nuisance. #irritating  (ha ha ha for all you hashtag lovers!!!! LOL)

  • All of everything said here deserves a big fat YES! Plus I hate when there is that ONE girl (or sometimes many girls) who takes a million selfies. Like seriously, get over yourself or your need for attention.

I've taken many breaks from Facebook just because I get so sick and tired of everything. The only reason I get back on is because I have family that I don't see very often that are on there and they will post pictures of themselves or their babies that I like to see. Other times, there are just humorous things to be read on my newsfeed. And I also like to see the very rare happy posts about something that is happening in someone's life.

Yes, yes, yes. I am currently trying to fight off solicitations from this one girl who is selling Mary Kay. No I don't want a facial. No I don't want a lip scrub. No I do not want Mary Kay. I do not like it Sam I Am.

-Vaguebookers. Don't put it out there if you don't really want people to ask.
-OMFGILOVEMYHUSBANDHEISTHEBEST posts. I post about DH about once a year, on our anniversary. I feel like if you need to shout from the rooftops (or post on FB) about how AWESOME OMG your relationship/marriage/life is, it probably isn't that awesome.
-Health updates. I know a girl who posts daily about her kids' health. Yes, her youngest is in the NICU, but I really feel like she needs a blog. I send my prayers/thoughts, but I don't need the daily (sometimes 2-3x) updates about it. Going to hell now...
