Had a mini-meltdown yesterday :/

So my H is supposed to get an SA done....he went to a urologist, they gave him a cup, told him to find a lab that takes his insurance to give sample to. He made appointment with a lab but when he called to confirm, they told him they do not do this testing. I don't know who to be more pissed off with - the doctor for not really giving much direction, or the insurance for being so incompetent with the list they gave my H.

It's frustrating because we are wanting to rule him out before figuring out what we are going to do about testing for me. His insurance covers the testing for him, but my insurance does not cover jack for any testing for me so it looks like we would be paying out of pocket. I will feel better once we rule him out first.

So yea, yesterday I just broke down and started crying. I've been trying to be positive but sometimes it's hard. And for me, I think I'm freaking out even more since my 39th birthday is right around the corner....

I'm sorry if this seems trivial to anyone here because I know some of you ladies have been dealing with way bigger issues - I think I just needed to vent my frustration somewhere. Thanks for listening.

Re: Had a mini-meltdown yesterday :/

  • No matter how big someone else's problems are, your problems still matter because they are yours. I'm so sorry they screwed things up and YH has to find somewhere else to get his testing done. In TTC, even a few weeks can feel like forever in trying to get things taken care of. I hope they get it sorted out quickly!

Exactly this. You have every right to be frustrated/upset/angry/all the things you're feeling.  Allow yourself to feel that way so you can regroup and find your positive attitude again.  FX things get sorted out quickly! xo

  • I would've been frustrated too. :( It sucks when you're trying to get things done and incompetency on the other side of things gets in the way.

  • I understand.  Age 39 is looking me right in the face too and it's stressful on top of all of the other TTC crap.

You're allowed to breakdown and be frustrated, it happens to all of us :) I hope your H's insurance gets their shit together and he can get his testing done.

    Baby A born 6/17/2015
  • Thanks ladies :)

You know, we'll figure everything out, it's just the whole getting there that's frustrating. My H called the doctor today and told him what happened and in the end, the doctor gave him the number to a place that is literally in the same building as his office. Like jeez...you think he could have given him this from the beginning? Hurdurrrrrr

I think what's even more frustrating, aside from the age factor, is the fact that we were trying to time the test before my 'window of opportunity' since we have to abstain for a few days before he does this and now it's like do we wait? Because I should be O'ing anytime between now and next week....
