  • Clarification: every third day. Day one looks awesome, day two looks fine, day three is a ponytail of some kind (always).  It works for me.

  • I have curly hair, so if I want to wear it down, I have to wash it and do it.. and if I wash it, I have to actually do it or it looks a hot mess...it's a whole routine. Once I sleep on it, it's ruined. Not even a spritz of water can revamp it. I don't have the patience to do my hair every day and it's not really good to wash your hair daily, so it looks nice the day I wash it, then it's piled on top of my head for the rest of the week.  Unless I have a meeting or someplace nice to go, I only wash it once a week.
    imageimage
  • I finally "trained" my hair so I can wash it every other day. I'd love to get to every 3rd day, but with fine, blonde hair.... I'm not so sure it's possible! Then again, it used to look crappy by the evening I washed it so I've already come a long way. Maybe there is still hope!

  • I wash my hair every day, except for Sunday. if I don't have anywhere to go I put it up and forget about it.
  • @rockabye there's still hope.  I have decently fine blond hair myself.  If you ever go on vacation where you don't care what anyone thinks of you,  stretch it out for like a week. And don't use any dry shampoo during that week.  When you get back you'll probably be cool for three days after washing bc your scalp will have gotten the message that it's already got enough oil goin on. :-)

  • Every now and then I'll squeak it out to every 3rd day, but it's typically every other day. My hair/scalp would completely rebel if I ever tried washing it every day! It's dry enough as it is!

  • I wouldn't mind washing my hair everyday, I mean I obviously bathe every day, but I HATE HATE HATE with a passion having to DO my hair.  It's Irish curly, meaning it doesn't look cute curly, it looks frizzy curly. So there's no just "letting it dry naturally" and looking cute. It has to be done and I'm not willing to do that everyday.

I simply have to wash every day. I've tried stretching it out and it's disgusting.

ETA my hair is too short for a ponytail or bun.

Same. It doesn't help that I usually get sweaty at work (we're stuck in a basement with poor temperature control- office is boiling, lab is freezing, etc.), so just by the end of the day it looks bleh. I shower/wash my hair in the evenings because I can't stand getting into bed with my hair all greasy and feeling sweaty and gross.

  • I only wash it 2-3 times per week. It gets really dry otherwise. My hair is really long, thick, and curly and always looks just as good the second day. Third day it's either up or I spritz it with water and then blowdry. That's a quick way to get the just washed look for curly girlies.

  • I can usually stretch it to 3 days if it keep it up. If its down its every other day. I have a bad habit of running my hands through my hair all the time so it gets oily much fast when its down.

I was in a car accident 2 years ago and was digging tempered glass from my scalp for weeks afterwards. Since I have psoriosis, when I get a deep cut like that I develop another scaley patch over the wound, so then I had the itchy patches. It has cleared up from my scalp since then, but I always run my fingers through my scalp when I am just sitting watching tv or reading because of it. My doctor said its just developed into a nervous habit from the trauma of the accident.

So there is my stupidly long story as to why I have to wash my hair every other day
